Blood was sipping out through his fingers. “Don’t squeeze your wound.” Cameron moved his hand away and saw a bloody mess under the torn sleeve. Something came to her mind that made her remove her wig. She snapped the rubber band off, and her long, dark hair fell behind her back like a waterfall. She tied the rubberband on his arm on top of the wound to help reduce the blood loss and helped him sit on the ground. Cameron then got up, went through their belongings, found a lighter, and heated the blade.

Elizabeth beamed, as he secured the bandage at the end. She moved the dirty bandages and bowls from the bed, discarding the bandages in the burning fire, and throwing the water out of the door. She followed it with clean water and a mixture of witch hazel, tea tree and thyme. That would stop any bacteria from growing and causing any harm. "You're a good teacher, especially to a blind man," Phillip remarked from the bed. "And an even better healer."

His right arm was atop the blanket and had an IV clinging to it like a lifeline, and an oxygen tube wrapped around him wanting nothing but to remain humming and alive. The skin that was not swollen, bruised or covered could put a piece of paper to shame it was so white.

She hovers over Alpha Lucas, pointing a light directly in the wound to see inside his abdomen, and I have to swallow to keep from losing my lunch. "The damage is too much to leave. You'll have to clamp the vein closed and put a patch on it," she says before opening and closing cubbards in the room until she finds what she is looking for. "This is a clamp. I need you to put it on the severed vein to make it stop bleeding. Put it a little higher than where it is severed at so you have room for the patch." She says the words, and I struggle to keep up with them. I nod my agreement as she shoves the clamp into my hand.

I had to set it and get it closed if I had any hope for her to live. The blood flow needed to be stopped before she bled out. Leaning up on my knees, I one-handedly ripped my belt from the loops. I tied it off just above her knee and watched as the blood from her wound slowed down to a few small drips that escaped down her leg.

He rubbed the heat deep into my aching muscles, his large palms working away the stiff tension until the blinding pain finally started to melt away into a comfortable numbness. Once he was fully done with the water treatment, he carefully lifted me out of the deep tub. He reached onto the silver medical tray and took something like a clean, thick bandage and a soft piece of protective cloth. Moving with highly skilled, steady fingers, he wrapped the white fabric tightly around the deep wounds on my legs, pulling the cloth secure before wrapping it a double time around my calves to make absolutely sure the dressings wouldn't slip.

She put her bra on and then picked up both of their shirts. As she pushed her arms back in her blouse, she noticed his bandage had red on it now. Rushing back to the bed, she knelt beside him. “You’re bleeding.” He glanced down at the bandage. “That might be a good thing. They’ll keep me in medical where I’m safer.” She leaned down and kissed beside the white patch. He ran his hand down over her hair as she sat back up and looked at him. “I’ll get you out as fast as possible.”
