A ‘book versus movie’ debate broke out. I looked over at Jenny sitting quietly while the rest of her group chatted away, and a thought popped into my head. Who would die first, me or her? I took a handful of chips and threw it into my mouth, munching it.

I have watched the movie like years ago, and I honestly think movies often tell the story a little differently as compared to the book version. Just like Nicholas Sparks, A Walk to Remember, the story is somehow dissimilar as compared to Mandy Moore’s movie version of the book.

I learned about the movie first but I also read the book later on. I like movies, but I don’t know why I feel a lot more connection with the characters in the book and understand the emotions better. I guess maybe it is because in the book, you can read the characters’ emotions and thoughts through the lines. But I guess it’s not for everyone since there are also people who prefer to watch movies rather than just read books.

I respond. He nods in agreement and I press play for the episode to continue. Two hours later, we finished season one of Bridgerton and we were discussing our thoughts and if it was better than the book. Blake starts by saying, “In my opinion, the season is better than the book. The book was kind of boring but the season gave us more spice.”

He return's my smile. Mirabelle leans into my ear, “Yea, nice.” she whispers. “Stop it.” I laugh. The movie was amazing, a romantic movie. Mirabelle's crying began half way through the movie until the end of it. I didn't cry as much as her because I've read the novel version of the movie and the ending wasn't as written in the book.
