The darkness was my home and I reveled in the quietness that accompanied the midnight as I casually flipped through the book I was reading in the dark. Despite having no candle light to see, I was quite able to read the words as clear as if it where day, only looking up when the door suddenly opened.

He decided to close the door, carefully and quietly. In the middle of the dawn. There is a glimmering light in Elise's room. Her hair changes to blonde, her body is glowing while Elise is still asleep. There is a blinding light above her sleeping form and a familiar book appears. Making noise, plopping the pages. Elise is still in a deep slumber while the book above her changes the pages automatically.

This way I don’t have to carry books everywhere, but I always have something readily available. The books I keep by my bed are ones that I want to read, but can sometimes be a bit slow in parts, so they help me fall asleep. I’m currently reading “Les Misérables” by Victor Hugo. It’s an amazing book, but some of the details can be a bit much. I’ve always preferred fiction, but some parts of Les Mis read more like a history textbook, perfect for those nights I need help falling asleep.

Bedtime. Usually, this was Aurora's domain. It was her sacred hour, the time when the CEO vanished and the "Maman" took over. She would read Goodnight Moon or The Little Prince, her voice a soft, rhythmic lullaby that chased away the dragons. But tonight, Liam stood in the doorway. He was wearing a simple gray t-shirt and sweatpants, his feet bare on the plush carpet. He held a book in his hand. Not a picture book. A chapter book.

So I would definitely remember if I was back to having nightmares. After some minutes of hesitation, Alex followed him from behind while hastening his pace so that he could meet up with Adrian. After walking for some minutes, Adrian stopped in front of the palace's library and walked inside, and with that, Alex followed him from behind. Getting into the library, Adrian went towards one of the shelves and took a book on which was written "Night Story Book," and on the cover was an image of a mother reading a story for her kids during bedtime. "Do you still remember this book? Mum used to read it for us every night before we went to bed," Adrian said to Alex as he threw the book to him, and with that, Alex caught it and took a look at it before smiling.

The setting sun shone through the large windows of the library, its rays reflecting through the ancient glass. I sat at one of the tea tables, reading The Northern Lights, written by Jennifer Donnally. Below me sat Tan, all curled up under my feet on the rug. I smiled at the adorable creature, turning one page after another. Out of everything in this big castle like house, this was my favourite part- the library. Here, I could be on my own, I could read all the books I ever saw, I could feel human. And now with Tan beside me, it felt for than just comfortable.

The library itself was a testament to the wisdom and knowledge accumulated over generations. The lighting in the library was a sight to behold. Bioluminescent sconces adorned the walls, casting a soft, ethereal glow that danced across the pages of the books. It was as if the wisdom contained within the volumes was brought to life by the gentle luminescence. Crystals, embedded within intricate chandeliers, scattered and refracted the light, creating mesmerizing patterns that shimmered across the vast expanse of the library.

That much was obvious. ‘A Hundred Years of Solitude.’ She was only halfway through the book. It was a heavy one, and she couldn’t understand why she read it before she came back. Night time was perfect for a reading session, so she was reading seriously. Heather was the most attractive when she was quiet, and she drifted to sleep with a book in her hands that night. If there was one downside about night reading, that would be the fact that the reader would fall asleep easily.
