Before long, she didn't even notice that he was there. It had been a while since she had skated, but it soon came back to her. She used to skate when she was a kid—and was pretty good at it, too—but her pursuits in later years left little time for frivolities. But then again, it was good exercise to get out every now and then, but more importantly, it was good for the soul. She skated around the perimeter of the frozen lake, getting a feel for the ice, and then became more daring with a figure eight move and then a small jump. I'll teach you slowly." He said. I didn't respond to him, but I didn't take my hands off him either. He skated slowly as he said, making us spin for a while on the sizable ice ring until I got used to it.

Emery Our Christmas Day had been utter magic. After we opened gifts we cooked a huge meal. All of us making a few dishes each then sat around the large dining room table and ate. Once that was over we got a big surprise when Caleb ran in saying the lake was frozen. This only happened a few times a year .. it certainly got cold enough.. but the lake was so huge and deep it didn’t freeze every time we had snow or cold weather.
