Like I could finally breathe again. I let out a deep breath as the sunlight hit my face. I tilted my head back, closed my eyes, and just stood there for a second, letting the warmth soak into my skin. It felt good and for a moment, I forgot everything. The pain, the hurt, the nightmares. I just stood there, letting the sun wash over me, pretending like I was okay. Pretending like things were normal. I wanted to stay like that forever.
