Sienna’s POV Betty and her friends scattered like startled rats the moment that commanding voice tore through the air, their laughter dying in their throats as they disappeared down the hallway. I remained frozen, heart still hammering from the brief struggle. My gaze lifted and I saw Ronan, the Alpha’s son. He was walking toward me, his steps steady and heavy with authority. For a second, relief washed through me. Maybe he’d seen what had happened. Maybe he’d stop to ask if I was alright. Maybe he’d even defend me.

Bruce stepped out of his table to walk towards me, “Calm down, Lisa. You don't want to start saying things that aren't true.” “But it's true that you called him back right? After he chickened out because you showed him a few notes. What do you think this is? Huh? Your playhouse where you can control the players? Bruce was laughing and it was getting irritating. Fuck, I hated him. I hated that I didn't think he'd turn out to like this. Bruce was now standing in front of me, his hands reaching for my face but I took a few steps back causing him to smirk.

My jaw tightened. “Adrian,” Bran muttered beside me, his voice low. “Move.” I followed him off the stage area and through the side door at the back of the hall. The music and laughter faded the moment the door shut behind us. Bran stopped abruptly and turned to face me. “What the hell is wrong with you tonight?” I frowned at him, still distracted. “What are you talking about?”

she snapped. “Maybe if you stopped yelling in my ear, I could see straight,” Rowan barked back. Brad and I were only a few steps ahead, but it felt like forever. My fingers dug into his shoulders. “Don’t trip now, we’re almost there!” He huffed out a breath. “You think I’m letting Rowan beat us after all that trash talk?” The last step was just right in front of us. Brad took a deep breath, adjusted his stance, and lunged forward just in time.

He turned and stepped back into his vehicle. The gesture made Breanna's stomach twist, but before she could respond he drove off. What the hell? I turned around to see what had him stepping away. There at the entrance of the stable stood Brian and even from where I was, I could see the furry in him. He walked towards us with such angered steps that even I stilled, eyes wide with fear of what was to come.
