I kill the engine in the circular driveway. Getting out, I adjust my jacket and walk around to the passenger side. I open the door for her, offering my hand. She takes it tentatively. As she steps down, her head tilts back, and her jaw literally falls. The Hawkins mansion is lit up like a goddamn monument to greed. Massive white pillars, floor-to-ceiling glass, and enough marble to pave a city.

The SUV rolled through wrought-iron gates into a fortress dressed as a mansion—three stories of dark brick and steel, walls built to stop a tank. “Home sweet home,” Maddox drawled as we climbed out. “This is your compound?” I stared up at the imposing structure. “It looks like Wayne Manor.” Jaxon snorted. “What does that make us—villains?”

So, no one would come out on those days. As we drove further rows of Victorian style houses sat each with their own large yard. Through the front window a huge light grey stone mansion appeared. We pulled through a large archway. All the paving stones on the ground a flat white. A large fountain in the center of the courtyard deprecated two wolves holding up a sphere with their noses . Water trickling from the top of the sphere down the wolves bodies to a small pool down below. We got out of the car and the man I can only assume was Beta Lucas stood between me and the two women. “You girls are dismissed.” He said sternly.

Serena noted all of them to be humans The gates opened and after driving a few minutes, they came across another, and then another. The security this time werewolves. After letting them in, a huge mansion came into view. It was painted in white with a lot of windows peeking out of the exquisite building. There was a fountain at the very center of the compound. As they drove past the fountain, they stopped at a huge garage. And Serena couldn't count how many cars she found there. Different models but the same color, black. There was a limousine, a Ferrari and she knew she saw a glimpse of a Bugatti.

I sighed deeply as I signaled for us to head home to the Woods Mansion. It was a huge mansion covering acres of land. It held a well-maintained landscape, which gave it a perfect fairy tale scenery. There was a beautiful fountain positioned in front of the mansion, which had illuminating lights that depicted the time of day. It had a pinkish hue that radiated in the night as we drove up to the front door.

He shut the door behind me and grinned. “Welcome to the great Varkar’s mansion, Zoey.” “Hmm.” I nodded, heart pounding fast out of nervousness. I took a deep breath as we started walking toward the massive front entrance. My heart was beating so loud I was sure Lincoln could hear it. The mansion was insane — tall pillars, sparkling fountains, and lights that made the whole place look like a damn palace. This wasn’t just rich. This was 0ld money, generational wealth rich.

He found himself wondering what it would be like to see Noah and Sterling in their own space, another two people who had somehow managed to find something solid together.
