Her face was full of scratches from Hailey's wrath and I'm afraid for the trouble we created. Brent rushed to my side and pulled me from Zach. "Baby, are you okay?" he was so worried that I looked like a mess from the splashing. "Oh no!" We heard Aira panic while pointing her fingers to my feet. Blood was dripping and I got so nervous before everything went black.

Just as our group slowed, unsure whether to continue, a sudden sound tore through the silence. A scream. It came from somewhere deep within the forest—sharp, desperate, and filled with pain. My heart jumped when I recognized the voice. “Lilian!” The cry faded quickly, swallowed by the thick trees, but the damage was already done. Everyone had heard it. The insects reacted at once. The small winged creatures suddenly grew restless, darting through the air in uneven circles. Their dark wings flickered as the faint silver patterns caught the light again and again. The panic in their movements made it clear something was wrong.

“Don’t tell anyone what you just saw here…” A loud, broken scream came from my throat—a scream of crying and fury, a scream of pain and sadness, a scream of disappointment, and my heart breaking into a thousand pieces. The scream was so loud and so terrifying that even the bats hidden in the treetops around the mansion took flight and fled.

Birds burst from the branches overhead in a sudden, frantic flurry, wings beating against the sky as if fleeing something unseen. My hand fell to the hilt of my sword. ‘Aurelian,’ Vethros murmured, too low, too calm. ‘You feel it too.’ The earth seemed to pulse beneath my boots. The air thickened, carrying the faintest tremor—like the breath of something massive moving between the pines. Then— A scream. High, sharp, human. I froze. Another scream followed, deeper this time, then shouts—many voices, all rising at once. Panic erupted through the stillness.

I breathed, pointing with a trembling finger. His eyes widened. "Are those...butterflies? Glowing butterflies?" We moved closer, enchanted by the ethereal sight. A whole cloud of them hovered in a small glade, their wings shimmering with every color of the rainbow. They seemed to pulse and swirl in hypnotic patterns, drawing us in like moths to a flame. Connor reached out a wondering hand, his eyes wide open with awe. The butterflies swirled around him eagerly, touching on his hair, his shoulders, his outstretched fingers. He laughed with childlike delight.

“The Millenium Dreams!” My heart pounded, and I immediately traced Sancha's line of sight. Just looking at them made me feel like I was in Mt. Olympus. They all look like gods...and goddess. The butterfly flapped its wings out of the stamen and, at first as small as a bee, became normal size in the air. "What is this? " Exclaimed Leander. I looked up at the big and small butterflies in the air flying, and could not help but sigh: "So beautiful!" The bunch of flowers turned into butterflies and went away with our loud shouts. Only a blue butterfly flew slowly around me. I reached out my hand tentatively. The blue butterfly landed lightly on my index finger, fluttering its wings as if to say hello to me. Liam looked at it for a long time. He wasn't as surprised as Leander. He just commented, "Boring juggling."
