“Our phase three is almost finished and we did not need to do anything, Alexander!” Carl chuckled but this around was more evident than before. He stood up from his throne like the king he was and proceeded to walk across the room. In the middle of the room, he halted in his steps and smiled. “Look damn what we've got here, Calven is slowly getting back to who originally is, the fucking monster he was!” Carl muffled up throwing his gaze upon the flaming ablaze. He grinned maliciously as he continued to walk across the room. He stopped at the exit of the room and leaned on the door.

They weren't players. They were NPCs. Shopkeepers. Quest givers. Blacksmiths. But their eyes were glowing blue—the color of the virus Ren had planted. It had woken up the artificial intelligence of the NPCs. They were becoming sentient. "Ren!" A voice called out.

It was crushed under Carl’s designer shoe. "Oh! How clumsy!" Carl cried. Carl leaned down as if to help. As their heads drew close, he slammed a mental link into John’s mind—a psychic pressure that felt like oil sliding over John’s brain. I’m taking every goddamn thing, Carl hissed mentally. His voice was a serrated blade in John’s skull. I took the Don. I took the brothers. I took your fiancé. Now I’ve got the room. I won't stop until you’re begging for scraps in the gutter.

As for Carl, he decided to go on with the next phase of his plan–gaining followers. Many of Carl's allies among the other humans had grown jealous over Carl's victory against the alpha and began to resent him. They started spreading rumors about Carl's abuse as well as his inability to find a mate since Alliyah wouldn't allow it. And the alpha was just too strong for him. So, he began recruiting werewolves instead. He also recruited werewolves from other packs who he had been able to convince of joining him willingly.

Being a vampire, his system got over the alcoholic influence pretty quickly, and by now, he wasn’t back to normal, but he felt much more sober than he did when he had sent the text. Ever since he entered the room, he had been shocked to kingdom come and he was only following his boss like a robot. Daniel eyed Carl, then the rest of the kids before he asked. “And who are you?” “I am Carl, and these are my siblings. We were born on the same day.” “Hmm.” “We called you here because you made our Mommy sad yesterday and you have to apologize.” Carl continued. “Are you the one who found someone to hack my company?”

I winced as the larger man reached out, gripped the man’s neck, lifted him up, and slammed him back down onto the mat. If they were human, the force of the impact would kill them. “Will Carl be okay?” “Carl has a fast healing ability. It’s why he was expelled from his pack. His ability to sustain damage and be right as rain within an hour freaked them out. They decided he wasn’t a wolf at all but a monster.” “Everyone that’s here, they have rejected their pack in some way?” i asked. “Or they have gotten thrown out. We are a mixture, Olive. “Like maybe we should head out into the forest? Carl said he was feral, right? So he’ll be in wolf form. We don’t know how much of him is left.” She hummed but nodded. Setting out, I wish she’d let the crowbar go but she took it with her. I closed the door behind us, making sure it locked. A quick look both ways and we hopped the barrier between the road and the forest. Following after her, I kept my ears open. Niru was forward as well, paying attention to the scent of the forest.

I mind-linked Harper to remove Gianna before I killed the stupid bitch. Carl here is a mess. I cut his skin from his chest before I cracked it open, revealing his heart. Instead of trying to contain and protect society from the paranormal and preserve normalcy, these guys believe in exploiting the paranormal.” Bob seemed pleased with that description, grunting in approval.
