The space between them vanished. Adrian caught him gently by the wrist, stopping the motion just before contact. His voice was a whisper. “Not yet. I want you to understand what you’re choosing.” Theo exhaled, trembling. “You think I haven’t already?” Adrian’s eyes softened. “Then choose.” Theo met his gaze, silent but certain. He slightly tilted his head, gazing bleakly at me with imploring eyes in his expression.
