Black's POV "I'm home." I said as I entered our house, but nobody answered. I guess Aunt Autumn hasn't come home yet. I sighed and went straight to my room. I changed my clothes, then lied down as I took my phone out and put my earphones on. Our performance will be in two days, so I have to learn the song by that time. I took out the lyrics inside my bag and read it as the song played. Surprisingly, Crimson had a really soft singing voice. It was unexpected considering his rough-sounding voice whenever he talks.

Then, she said, “You know what this sounds like, right?” Amelia narrowed her eyes. “Don’t say it.” Maya grinned. “Enemies to lovers.” Amelia groaned. “Maya, I swear—” “Just saying,” Maya sang. “It’s a classic trope.” “Not our trope,” Amelia shot back. Maya giggled. “We’ll see.” Amelia rolled her eyes. “Anyway,” she said, “enough about him. I have other news.” “Ooh,” Maya said. “Spill.”

Perhaps out of a desire for atonement, Michael later transferred all of his company shares and all the assets under his name to me. I looked at the stamped documents in my hands. Despite the turmoil raging inside me, my smile remained calm and composed. "Darling, I don't want anything. I just want you to be well," I said. "I'll keep your infection a secret. From now on, we'll live the way we used to. We'll start over and plan our future together."

And as we stare out in front of us, the marigolds blowing in the wind, I think about everything that happened to lead us to this moment. Our story is nowhere near perfect.
