CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND _ FOUR Clifford removed his phone from his pocket and texted an unknown number. "Close your eyes for five minutes, " he told them and walked over to the door. He returned with two men, twin kids, and two lawyers. Mary stood up to her feet, screaming at the top of her voice while she rushed to the man who held twin kids by his side. She hugged him passionately and sobbed in his arms. Henry stood up with his eyes and mouth wide open.

I clung to him, my knuckles white, my fear too intense to ignore. Tears pricked at my eyes, and I felt nauseous. I couldn’t handle it anymore. “Please… I want to get off!” I cried, my voice trembling with panic. Ares didn’t speak. Instead, he wrapped his arms around me, pulling me close. His embrace was firm and steady, offering comfort amid the chaos. I buried my face in his chest, squeezing my eyes shut as I clung to him. “It’s okay,” he murmured, his voice a steady anchor in the storm. “Just hold on. It’ll be over soon.”

*Jaedon’s POV* “You’re saying war?” My best friend and Beta, Peter Normandy raised his eyebrows at me. Peter and I had met when we were children. Our pack, Snow Creek, had taken over his own pack Everforest. Now, the remaining joined us and pledged their loyalty. It hasn’t been a terrible thing for them though. We didn’t have to kill anyone. Their Alpha had been sick and the sickness was spreading. He asked us to take over the healthy of their pack so it wouldn’t have to die off. Our Alpha at the time obliged.
