The clear liquid was spewed all over the ground and she wrinkled her nose at the strong, unbearable stench of alcohol so close to her face.
“How am I supposed to believe you?” He sneered, yelling so loud Terra thought more glass would break. “I mean, look at who your mother is. You’re just like her!”
“No, Sir. I swear I was—”
“DON’T LIE TO ME! You’re just like her. I bet you were with that boy down the street. Marcus, is it?”
Tears sprung involuntarily to Terra’s eyes. Yes, he was a jerk, but he was still her father. And no matter how mean to me he was, his words still hurt. “I swear I was not with anyone.”
