Concubine Ranks Novels & Stories

"Why not leave the daughter with the grandmother or another one of your father's consorts to raise? I know that Ning Qi's wife has always had a close relationship with you. I think they would be thrilled to be the foster parents of their neice." "If she was concubine born, such an arrangement could be made." Ning Zhuo looked tiredly at his daughter as she stretched in her sleep and rolled over with a bemused expression. "I am illegitimate when compared to my true born siblings. The concubine serves the main wife as a servant and the illegitimate born serves the true born as a servant as well. I am no one to touch such a child. There is nothing I can say to--"

Genna the second concubine and the most carefree of them laughed and left “What do you think?” Monna the third concubine asked the fourth one “Why are you asking me that?, do I look like the Alpha King, mtcheew” Zenna the fourth concubine hissed angrily and left.

She'd treat it like playful pillow talk between a couple. “If I had to choose…” Seraphina started calculating in her head. In ancient times, the young master would at least be an emperor or a prince. Hopefully not an emperor, though—emperors had harems of thousands and constantly brought in new women. Whether she was empress or noble consort, she’d have been driven mad with jealousy early on. If he were a prince, maybe the number of wives would be fewer—just slightly better. After mulling it over, she said, “Then I’ll be the concubine.”

She rubbed her stomach as if there was a visible bump. “You know… it doesn’t matter who the legal wife is. The one who isn’t loved will always be miserable.” She smirked wider, “and the heir’s mother is much more important and powerful. Even throughout history. Once the king’s concubine had a baby, she instantly rose in the ranks.” Then with a mocking look in her eye, she asked, “do you think he’ll dispose you soon?” “You want a title. I want a divorce. He won’t give us either.” I reminded her. This seemed to wipe the smug look from her face. “If you’re really that capable, I’d love to see you try.” And with that, I walked upstairs to my room.
