"Darling~!" Cordelia rushed forward, a love-struck look in her eyes, seconds later clutching a shorter woman's arms to her chest. Maria couldn't help but notice the embarrassing light dusting of pink that covered the tan woman's cheeks. She had long symmetrical black and white hair with many tiny bells and Maria noticed the two gun holsters attached to her waist.

Catalina's Pov The door swung open slowly, revealing darkness beyond, then a figure stepped into the dim light of the corridor. An older woman, maybe sixty years old, with silver hair pulled back so tightly it stretched her face. She wore robes like the others Catalina had seen in the compound, but hers were different. They are embroidered with symbols that seemed to shimmer in the emergency lights. She held herself with the kind of authority that came from decades of being obeyed without question.

I nodded once and turned away before my face betrayed too much. The cold bit harder as I walked back across the snow. Somehow, the silence around me felt louder than it had minutes ago. Inside the tent the warm was immediate, the scent of clove tea and firewood wrapping around me like a shawl. The frame of it was made entirely out of thin gold strings, some of which being entirely encrusted with tiny crystals. In the very middle of the crown a large crystal, followed by 4 smaller ones evenly distributed on each side of it, sparkled in between fragile looking golden branches that were playfully intertwining all over it to make the body of the crown.
