He was a coward, and cowards did not deserve to live. I finished my transformation and leapt towards him, my fangs bared and my claws outstretched. He tried to run, but it was too late. I pounced on him, taking him down easily, and felt his flesh and bone crunch under my jaws. As he gasped for breath, I watched as the light faded from his eyes, knowing that he would never betray me again.

Of course, cowards. Seeing them now made me feel proud of her in a way because she fought hard but they were here, drinking to their heart's content. “Did you just call her a dog?” I dropped my head to the side, eyes twitching. “She’s a girl so that makes her a bitch.” Jack responded and they shared a weak laugh. Clyde puffed smoke in my direction. “She’s got a pretty face, I’ll give you that. Shame she can’t keep her legs closed.”

Kurt closed his eyes immediately, completely unfazed, like he didn't care whether they pulled the trigger or not. At his age, he had become a stubborn man who didn't scare easily. He was completely fearless, as if he had nothing to lose. When Hayley saw that, her gaze shifted to the dog beside him. The dog met her eyes and whimpered, shrinking back. Hayley let out a cold laugh. "That's a nice dog you've got. Would make a pretty good campfire stew." The moment she said that, Kurt's eyes snapped open. He lunged forward, spreading his arms to shield the dog.

He muttered. "Billy, we have another person for you." She called and the dog slowly turned around. Big brown eyes met with Adrian's, the dog assessed him with intimidating eyes that were hard and expressionless. Like a hateful glare, it burned him, trying to shake him and maybe throw him out of the room. Adrian was terrified no doubt, but he stood his ground. Just a dog, he kept reminding himself, albeit a spoilt and rich one yet a dog and he looked really cute. That thought caused Adrian to smirk but he soon smacked it off his face when the dog climbed down from the bed and made its way toward him.

"Next time, okay? Next time you can join in." Cola looked up at her. Really? No tricks? "Really." Nicole took his paw and hooked it with her finger. Hughie and Jeremy watched from the sidelines, jealous as hell. Honestly, only the dog had the nerve to smack Nicole like that. Anyone else would've been in trouble long ago. At least, they didn't have that kind of courage. The childhood trauma of getting beaten by her still hadn't faded. Man… How was the gap between being human and being a dog this big?

She stood there in a daze as she muttered, “A shark? What shark? Ryan told me that the area was safe. How could Leon have been bitten by a shark?” Mary did not want to talk to her anymore. She called for security and told them to escort Lily away. In the ward, Lydia saw Lily struggling outside. She was confused. “Isn’t that Lily? Why is she here?” “She’s my fiancee.” I smiled bitterly. Lydia and William both stiffened, their expressions instantly turning awkward. “That day… Ryan was talking about an engagement party. He said that Lily’s fiance was marrying a dog… That was you?” Lydia asked. I nodded, and the atmosphere became awkward.

But that pity burned away the instant he looked up at me again — defiant, still too proud to know when to stop. “Coward,” he spat weakly. “You only know how to fight the weak.” My fingers twitched. My wolf demanded blood. I took a slow, steady step forward. “You don’t know how lucky you are that I haven’t killed you for trespassing.”

I sneered and said, “Bravo! If you didn’t tie my hands, I would clap. What a great performance! Unfortunately, you’re only a coward who only dares to hurt a weaker one. In the past life and now, it’s who you are.” “What did you say? A coward?” His eyes glared at me. Then he laughed and clicked his tongue. “I must admit you are smart, Anna. Being a werewolf suits you. To prove I’m not a coward, I will untie you.” I held my breath. I could escape after this!

He tumbles to the floor, landing with a loud, graceless thud, and begins crawling toward the door like a damned cockroach. Pathetic. I stalk toward him slowly, not rushing, not bothering to hide the predator in my steps. When I reach him, I grab his leg and yank him back in one swift move. CRACK. He screams. His leg bends the wrong way under my grip, and he howls, clutching at the shattered bone. “Please—Alpha—! I’ve changed! I swear—!” I crouch beside him, eyes hard, unmoving. “You’re a coward,” I hiss. “You beat your mate. Beat her daughter. You stood by while they were hurt. All to keep your precious Beta title.”
