Alicia's eyes still closed lurk in the darkness. She hears the soft sound of hooves clattering over mud that gets bitter on hitting stones. Her body keeps getting low jolts as wheels squeak over some small stones. Her mind slips into a memory. In the center of the walls made of yellow stones is a half open brown wooden gate. On the floor, a candelabrum is standing with one candle in the center raised more than one on each side. Under the yellowish light are lying some black pawns carved with stone.

My heart is furiously beating as I type the word nonhuman. Many articles pop up so I just click on the first one. There are so many definitions. Sirens,witches, vampires , demons and yes, Angels are there too. Apparently the term is used to describe people who are not exactly humans, people with unusual gifts or powers. The following article says nonhumans are just a myth and that no such thing exists. One says they were real during the eighteenth century but we're destroyed and are now extinct. I keep on reading and even click on the images. The images are a bit scary and definitely not human. The thought that I could be one of those things is more than scary.

He wondered in horror. After he took his eyes off the eggs and dropped the scary thought that they were fighting babies, he heard what sounded like large rocks sliding against each other from inside the cave. The sounds were so unreal it conjured up the image of boulders moving with sentience within his mind. Like each echoing pulse of earthen friction was the movement of some primordial dweller of the earth. As if his thoughts had suddenly realized, he saw a gigantic snake emerge from the cave.

Ruth ended the call and left Alex and Lee with an astounded expression. “Oh God.” Their minds were about to melt down. Werewolves, vampires, witches—were all real.
