He knows I don’t skimp on the good liquor. The door opens and I stand up. Crane appears through the door with Matt as he closes the door behind him. Crane seems to be frozen in time. He looks old and wrinkled and well past his prime but is still as active as a young wolf. His eyebrows stand up like they were electrocuted and his nose is slightly crooked. I’m sure in his prime he was better looking. Now, he looks like life has fucked him every day and he can’t remember the safe word.

Dante stops and acts surprised and we laugh. "What is the joke?" The skull guy, I learned his name is Diego joins us, and I am between two males again. At least they are not trying to kill each other. "Well, she says she finds my tattoos sexy as hell" Dante winks and I gape at him. I didn't fucking say that.

Ash, Decker, and Nat were downright hysterical and I could hear even Blade trying to keep himself from laughing. "I'm not gonna yell at her. I just want to know when they learned to ride." Joker snarled as he glared at me and then at the rest of the group. "Yeah, me too!" Dom and I both said at the same time which set off another round of laughter. Joker continued towards the door with us right behind him. He finally wrenched it open only to be greeted with Petal and Margo rolling in laughter on the floor. Thor, Sunny and Thrash were behind them, cracking up as well.

looks like she must have been so scared to offend someone so rich. This forces me to laugh out loud as I return my phone to my pocket and wave at both of them. "All right, it's okay, guys. Chill a little bit and live up. I'm just joking." I say and watch as the lady turns to me with fury on her face. "You deserve an endless sea of punches for that, do you know?" she asks, but I shrug. " What can I say? It's part of my mini traits. I am in Joker by profession."

I could hear the sound of that sickening crunch even over the crowd noise, even I winced. Jace went down, and this time... he didn't get up.

"Nuts for you." I stared at him, processing the absolute audacity. Then made a face. "Ew." He raised an eyebrow, genuine surprise flickering across his features. "Ew?" "Yes, ew. That was cringe." "Cringe?" He repeated the word like it physically pained him. I nodded, pushing lightly against his chest, feeling the solid warmth beneath my palms. "Very." He looked genuinely offended for a second, his expression almost wounded. "Wow." I crossed my arms, creating a barrier between us. "You asked."

He said with a smile, and the sides of his eyes creased. Joker held my hand and dragged me, pulling me to his office. “I heard you're feisty. You better drop it unless you want to end up like your little friends.” My eyes widened when he reminded me of what he did to the two girls. Even though I was scared, I didn't act scared at all. I wanted him to know that I wasn't intimidated by him. “Eyes down.” His deep voice rang, but I ignored. I stared at him with daggers in my eyes.

I could only pray that the blood doesn't seep out and get the unwanted attention. Joker gestured to one of his men and they came over and untied me. I immediately got off the chair and needed to stretch a bit, I felt so rusty from sitting there for way too long. I looked around me, it seemed to be a clinical environment, possibly abandoned. I thought back to the rhyme joker had given to Rurac earlier on “You want your mate and maid back? Come and meet me. I'll give you a hint just because I'm a nice guy, I'm at the place where the poor would go with fear and the rich would go with ego. "I'm just concerned, you're the only friend I have" He pulled a sober face and then burst into laughter. "You're weird you know that right? You're cringing me out with those eyes" he said and then shook his head. "Joker" I commented, kicking my feet at the edge of the desk. "Believer" he snapped back and I shook my head, laughing with him too but I never meant that. He kept my hope high and he's so unreadable. I was really mad but then I only exhaled softly and gnashed my teeth.

"But since we're on the topic of roles, you do know your time will come too, right? Just like I and Osiris failed. So will you, and if you don’t die on the job like Osiris, you'll end up…. Just. Like. Me!” They laughed. Loud and obnoxious, one was a grating sound in my ears. The other? Sounded forced. "You’re something else. Seriously. I almost don’t wanna break your face." Joker drawled, wiping a false tear from his eye. "Almost?" I smirked. That one pissed him off, cause he slapped me. Hard across the face. My head snapped sideways, not really… just for dramatic flair. I let it hang, motionless. "Hey. Don’t kill him yet." Spear Guy said.
