Crooked Kingdom By Leigh Bardugo Novels & Stories

Lucas said, and I raised my brows at him. “I have a kingdom to rule Lucas, I shoulder responsibilities, you understand?” I said, and he nodded while I walked towards my office, Lucas followed me immediately. I went inside my office and sat down, I saw the pile of files waiting for me to attend to, and I sighed “A lot of these files have to do with the kingdom's finances, I noticed something unusual, it seems the chief responsible for finances are collecting more from the people than he penned down” Lucas said, and I lazily skimmed through the file.

I let go of Red’s hand and go to stand next to Elder Corvian. “You entered the competition to become the next regent without revealing your true identity. You have proven to everyone that you indeed are Queen Sera’s descendant, not only by blood but also by fighting for what is rightfully yours. Caleb, are you ready to say the sacred vows in front of your people and become the new king of the Diamond Realm?” “I am,” I say, my voice echoing without effort. A low pedestal rises from the floor, carved from black diamond. An ancient dagger made of bone appears on top of it.

She had never touched a more expensive cloth in her life ever. “Well, that will be up to King Dominic to decide, he taught us some magic tricks though,” Clio shrugged and both of them left the room leaving Erica alone with the book. Erica opened the book slowly, didn’t knowing what to expect. The book also didn’t have any author name, as she opened the book she expected a whish of smell but it never came. The first page had bold letters written in ‘Kingdom Heaven’. Erica turned the page and saw some scribbled information about the animals, fruits and some history of the royalty in Kingdom Heaven. It was all too boring for Erica. She kept turning the pages leisurely. She didn’t find anything

Wilde,” While the two adults continue their conversation, their voices began to fade out in Madison’s mind as his attention was stolen by a figurine on the Mayor’s bookshelf. It was of medieval knights with a shield and sword ready to face off against a massive dragon. This made Madison think back to the stories of a mystical kingdom that April G had told him as a child. The kingdom was called Parabola. Madison visualized images of the strange kingdom, as if he had been there to witness it firsthand. Many of these visions included the dragons attacking the castle. The second one included fighting against a foe from far away. The third one involved an evil which who had used dark magic to bla

There was no response. She crossed the doorway and closed the door behind her. It took her eyes a moment to see clearly. There were large, tall dark wood shelves lined up with leather-bound books and maps stuffed in them from top to bottom, there was an armor rack at a corner dressed in complete armor, a sword stood where the hand was supposed to be. Cleopoda walked towards it and ran her hands all over its silver surface. It was beautiful and cool to the touch, a shield rested at the foot of the rack, and on it was the royal coat of arms, she ran her fingers over the two dark rearing horses standing back to back and the sword that was between, it was beautiful and majestic.

Penny rubbed her ring and chanted “Dragan Oigher Brishor!” --- For the next four hours, Ludwig had meetings upon meetings with Brishor and three other kings of other kingdoms: Ha’daz, king of horned demons, Meermeth, king of dwarves and Queen of druids, Tilia. Ha’daz was particularly pissed off by Maxim. Apparently he had been provoking his people, luring them with money and illegal girl to have sex. There had been numerous complaints against him. He was getting underage girls, young women and sometimes even men to satiate the ever growing demand of the demons. It had become extremely loathsome and Ha’daz wanted to get rid of him. But his problem was that Maxim had a lot of money and a lot o

Nico was the eldest of the DeLuca brothers, followed by Adrian, who passed away, Enzo, the enforcer, and Nero, the New York King. She didn’t like me after she overheard a conversation she heard me have over the phone about getting rid of a woman. It didn’t help that when she questioned me about it, I couldn’t explain what I had been talking about. It didn’t help that the conversation she overheard me having was right after Nero was threatened by a vigilante group called the Sovereign Justice, who went after bad, rich, and powerful men, with a video of him killing a sixteen-year-old girl when he was also sixteen.

His voice was so hoarse that it made my ears sting, "I wondered why that thing didn't scoop out your heart. Turns out, your blood was the best shield..." …… I woke up drenched in sweat, back in my bed. It was a week before the Haunts world descended. The gold bar from last night's burial was still heavy in my pocket.

Jackson was there, and he nodded in understanding each time I explained. "But why are you the one giving this plan?" Liam suddenly said, they all turned to look at him. "What do you mean?" I asked, and could feel Jackson shifting bedside me. "This is always carried out by the alpha. He is the only one who leads the competition," he revealed, and I turned to look at Jackson. It was oddly quiet after his revelation. Jackson cleared his throat after. "Well I am handing this competition to Caroline. I know she can do this perfectly, and we've all heard her plans and saw a sketch. She knows about this, and her ideas for winning are unquestionable. We can't deny the fact that she's the best for thi

They speak of lycans as superior not because it is true—but because superiority requires an enemy. Rogues are convenient. Riley is inevitable. And when she is finally forced into the open—when her child’s existence can no longer be hidden—the contrast will do the work for me. A Queen who stayed. A woman who ran. A sanctioned heir. A wild one. Kael will not choose. He will fracture. And in that fracture, the realm will harden into exactly the shape the Council desires. Order without mercy. Law without love. A crown that does not hesitate.
