Arthur said as he landed another punch at the Security Analyst’s face. Snapping out of his trance, Damian walked to the Student Council Treasurer beating Sir Tremblay up. He too was enraged by the photo that he saw and without any hesitation, Damian kicked Sir Tremblay by the side repeatedly. “Bastard. You fvcking bastard! You dare do that to Hestia!? And to my sister too?! You are a paedophile? A fvcking pedo!” Damian shouted as he kicked Sir Tremblay again and again.

“So, if Mr. Thorn had not forced you to leave Mr. Smithe you would still be together now?” “No!” Anger was building inside me. I tried to look back at Nick in the hope just looking at him would calm me but the hairs on the back of my neck were standing up. My adrenaline started pumping as I clenched my fists into my lap. “Are you sure because we have testimony from Mr. Smithe’s sister, who I believe was your housemate at the time, that you were happy with Dan until Mr. Thorn forced your hand.” “No, it’s not true!” I looked at Dan and saw a sadistic smile creep onto his face.

CHAPTER 84: THORNHILL IS SHOT DEAD KIMBERLY: The phone slipped from Damien's hand and landed on the table with a dull thud, its screen still lit. His face lost all color. "Damien?" I reached for his hand. "What is it? What happened?" He slowly turned to face me, his jaw tight, eyes distant. "Thornhill is dead." My heart skipped. "Thornhill? You mean Mr. Thornhill, the attorney?"

He gave me a sad smile as he tucked a stray hair on my ear. “Well, I am already upset. What is there to lose?” I crossed my arms as if saying ‘I’m waiting.’ “Okay.” He said in defeat. “It’s about this morning's news.” He glanced briefly at my blank face before continuing. “It says that three men were ground to the bones inside the meat shop in Hill Street. And…and one of those three men was my friend, Caleb.” He finished panting, like the thought of his friend being dead is consuming the life out of him. My eyes widened in mocked shock and disbelief. What got my attention was the fact that he knows Caleb Salazar. But the question was, to what extent?

Dating Damien hadn't exactly been easy. At first, Jared went full petty sabotage mode—planting fake pictures in my bag, giving Damien's number out to random strangers, doing anything he could to wedge something between us. But after about two weeks, he got bored, or maybe just tired of seeing it wasn't working, and backed off. Now he was too busy working with his mom at HUG and trying to keep Cormac from laundering too much money through McIntyre. Thankfully, we'd reached a point where we could all hang out again without drama... well, except for Jared and Damien's usual bitch-fest back and forth.

Chapter Eighty – Diablo. Damien knocked on the small door of the bar. A huge man opened up and he strolled in, not sparing the man a word. The place was teeming with young men and women. It looked like a club house, as well as a drug baron’s base. It irked him to be around such place but that was the only place he knew to get the help he needed. He arrived at a door, after walking down the hall for seconds. It was rough like someone usually scraped it with spoons. Damien ignored it and knocked on the door twice.

Lila didn’t strike him as the type to burn a useful tool without having another one lined up. He needed answers. Direct ones. So he went to the source. Alex Thorne’s apartment was in a sleek high-rise not far from campus, the kind of place that screamed “trying too hard to look successful.” Damien didn’t bother with pleasantries. He had security bypass the doorman and rode the elevator up alone, jaw tight, hands clenched at his sides. When Alex opened the door, the surprise on his face lasted only a second before shifting into that smug, calculated smirk Damien had come to hate.

Damien’s POV The shouts hit me like a slap. That voice…rough, demanding, way too familiar…cut through the laughter and froze every muscle in my body. Mark Grayson. Ellie’s piece-of-shit ex-husband. The one who put her in the hospital more times than I could count. Broken ribs, black eyes, lies about “falling down the stairs.” The one who cheated on her like it was a hobby. The one who sent thugs to my house to teach her a lesson.

Is this real. Damien appeared in the doorway seconds later. He crossed the room and read the email over her shoulder. His jaw tightened but the bond stayed calm and open. No lie. No hidden guilt. He pulled his own phone and called Marcus on speaker. “Check the border logs from last Tuesday. Thorne sent Zara a message claiming I was trading land.”

He murmered under his breath but I heard it. "Oh really? Well then you are a Feisty snake, feisty lion, feisty panda, Feisty frog, Feisty....Feisty coakroach, feisty dove...." I was interrupted by a loud sound of someone laughing. On turning to look at the front, it was the one and only, Mr.Damien. "What?!" I asked angrily. "Seriously....like....wait.....let me....stop!" He kept on laughing holding his stomach. When his laugh died down that had caused water to seep out of his eyes, he stood straight with a his stupid smile on his face.
