K was just a few minutes away. "Don't worry she's poisoned and hurt, she won't be able to anything to us..." Sam assured them as the others were terrified or at least pretending to be terrified. "Don't you know? A wounded tiger is even more dangerous." She said and stared directly into his eyes, he got a cold shiver just from that as he got a glimpse of how dangerous she was.

I'd played this game too many times. I fumbled again, and this time, a click echoed, amplified by the frantic beat of my heart. "Mona! Open this damn door!" His voice, thick with liquor and rage, vibrated through the thin wood. I didn't dare answer. Maybe by morning, he'd have forgotten the details, or at least be too hungover to care. But for now, I was getting out of here! I yanked the window open and peered outside. It was daytime, making everything visible, but no less terrifying. It was a long drop, and the thought of landing awkwardly, possibly breaking my neck, sent a wave of nausea through me. I wasn't ready to die yet.

“I don’t know why a lake princess attacked you, but I promise I’ll find out.” Leslie watched us, her gaze shifting between him and me, completely confused. “So… does the book have something to do with this?” I asked, a shiver running down my spine as I remembered all the times I had flipped through it without understanding what it truly contained. Alex nodded slowly. “That book is more dangerous than you think, Scarlett. There are creatures who would give anything to have it… and now that you have it, they’ll be looking for you.” The impact of his words left me speechless. I couldn’t fully process it: how could a simple book have dragged me into something so dangerous?

Every second was a battle to maintain control of the boat. The shoreline in the distance emerged from the gloom of the rain, thin and almost translucent. I felt like crying for joy. I didn't dare to cry, though. I needed to see clearly; I knew this was the dangerous part, the part where it was easy to forget what I was doing, easy to think I was safe. I was in just as much danger here as I was out on the open water; the land was too far away to help me if I got sloppy.

She took out her cell phone and turned on the torchlight and so did Celeb, and they began heading forward through the pathway, at each side were different trees and it was so dark, one can feel danger lurking there. "Katherine, tell me one thing..." Celeb fastened his footsteps to catch up with her, his eyes still darting from left to right. "Why are we here?" He asked. Katherine exhaled sharply, she looked forward. "I’m here to clear my head." She told him and Celeb blinked, it was insane to come to this dangerous place just to clear her head. He made a face and looked at her again. "Hold on," He thought of what she said and spoke out again. "You are here to clear your head when there are l

“I’m not standing here alone with any of them though, am I?” Clearing his throat, still dense with lust, he sighed. “If I tell you, I put you in danger.” Zoe rolled her eyes. “Oh please, as if that isn’t the oldest line in the criminal’s handbook.” “It’s the truth.” “So, you just expect me to believe that I’m not in a dangerous situation right now?!”

“That is not a safe text.” Troy finally looks up from his notes. “You’re blushing so hard you look sunburned.” “He’s ridiculous,” I mumble, staring at the screen. The worst part is that Connor sounds exactly like himself even through text—cocky, confident, impossible to ignore. And my stupid brain keeps replaying last night at the worst possible moments. His hands on my waist. His mouth against my neck. The low laugh he made when I kissed him back harder. Very, very dangerous.

“Boss, stop! You’ll ruin your hands!” “Move aside!” Sean shoved Uno away and punched the container a fourth time without hesitation! “Boss!” As Uno gasped, there was a crash, and the monstrous rectangular container before them shattered in an instant! Crash! There was an even louder boom, and all of a sudden, it was like a dam had broken in the room. In the blink of an eye, the water from the container flooded the room and destroyed the crystal coffee table in the room. Mr. Denham and the others were taken off-guard by the sudden tidal wave, falling to the floor pathetically and even rolling around in the water for a bit before they grabbed a corner of the couch and steadied themselves.

“My lord, this was found in the jar. The water is poisoned with it. And there are rogue tracks near the upper stream.” A cold silence spread. The word *rogues* filled the pack with fear. Damien’s jaw tightened. His eyes turned hard. “So they dare. They strike at our food, at our water, like cowards in the night.” He crushed the leaf in his hand and threw it to the ground. “We will answer this with fire.” Elara stepped closer, her voice soft but strong. “Damien, please… be careful. Do not lead the pack into danger too quickly. The people are afraid. They need comfort first.”
