This time, I responded in a raised voice, "Mr. Blackburn, whatever transpired between us is a thing of the past. Now, I'm Axel's wife."
Then, I pointed at the door and cast William out coldly. "Please leave now. You're not welcomed here."
The sight of me looking so cold and aloof made William's expression falter. He snapped, "But you're supposed to be mine!"
I merely sneered in return.
"Oh, your lover is Elaine, not me."
His face now ashen, William seemed to have thought of something, and his attitude suddenly softened. Even his voice grew hoarse.
"Daphne, be a good girl and go home with me."
