The suppression mist was powerful, but the sheer, primal terror of dying like this, triggered something deep inside her. Deep within her marrow, the light began to fight back. Iris was silent with her mouth slightly open. She was a 1456th Hunter who entered the organization. A number that didn't matter to remember, and Iris immediately touched her forehead.

Which is why I haven’t been using it ever since I started writing 1001 Dark Tales. Yes, I could have written it quicker, but 1001 Dark Tales are dark romance tales. I’m not ashamed of anything I write, but I would rather not act out the scenes with three males who I don’t even know their names or what they look like. I push those thoughts away as I put the quill down and grabbed my other manuscripts, leafing through them. Each of them was only partly done and would benefit from using the quill on them. Before I could pull one out, though, I heard a knock at my door.

He Caught a hunter by the hand mid-strike, he tightened his grip on the man’s wrist and crushed it with brutal ease. The hunter cried out like a child. Dax stared at his own hands in shock. This isn’t normal. Another hunter took advantage of Dax’s unawareness to strike. But Dax was fast, too fast. He spun, blade flashing and cutting the man down in one devastating arc. The remaining hunters stood with their eyes wide open in horror of what they just saw. They quickly retreated and vanished into the shadows. Silence fell. Lior stared at Dax closely. “You are glowing.”

I got out of the car and stood with Shannon as Leon and Liam walked over to the men. As Leon walked over, a large man came out of the group of men in front of him. The man gave off as much power as Leon did. He was about the same build as Leon, but this man had caramel coloured skin, with hair that looked like coffee swirling in the wind and the most intensive eyes the colour of dark chocolate. Everyone prepared themselves and pin the last part of their chains to the wrought. “Convel, I want you to grab our prisoner.” My eyes never blinked this fast before. “Why?” “I want her to see us, to see what we believe in, and to see how we make sure everyone is safe.” I nodded as a response to what he said. He is determined to let humans, especially hunters, understand us. Minutes after leaving Alarick and my beer, I finally arrived at the dungeon with no guards around because of the blood moon. I slowly entered the dungeon. It was dark, but our eyes could see everything, no matter how dim the surroundings were.

Once I did, I gasped at the horror of the sight. Zanicus’ eyes had turned full blood-red, and his canines protruding over his lip with abnormal length, and his claws looked like he had been digging land with his nails colored pitch black. Hunter immediately took a step back, blocking me from taking a step further with his big arm. “She was born for a purpose,” his voice coming out dangerously soft, like the sound of the wind brewing before a thunderous storm.
