Nina’s Pov- Darkness, engulfed in a pit inside of my own mind and encasing me in the pitcher than pitches of the darkest black. I was trapped inside an infinity room, A room that had no walls. A room that had no light or bulb for me to switch on. I wasn’t here and I wasn’t out there, I wasn’t anywhere, I was just being. I was nowhere, at a standstill and I don’t know for how long I’ve been here or why it was that I was here, but I didn’t want to be here, wherever here was I was stuck with no exit for me to take.

Was there a possibility that she might still be alive? I closed my eyes and felt out into the universe. Remarkably, it didn’t take me long to find her, but what I found inside of her mind was more than a little disturbing. Dala was surrounded by darkness. Not just the kind where it’s sort of hard to see when your bedroom light is off at night but the sort of darkness that makes your eyes ache because they are trying to focus and there’s nothing to focus on. I knew immediately where she was. Christian had said there were others, and he was right. Dala was one of them.

Smoke seeped from his body again, and a dark aura rose from his body like a shadow looming over her.

It was extremely chilling, freezing even that my teeth cracked and my body trembled under the cold room’s temperature. I craned my neck for a window but there was none, only an old-looking wooden door other than that it was empty. For all I know I could be deep underground, in some random room in an isolated prison or in someone's personal cell. I could be anywhere. Above the only source of light was an old-fashioned bulb on a bare white wire and its switch was nowhere to be seen.

When he got to the center of the book, the characters became clearer so that he could read a long forgotten story. "... and God's power became weaker. People gave themselves to their despair. Waniya Sadness does not seem a burden, when you never had the pleasure of being happy. I have always been in a fight and flight mode, struggling to prove that I am worth something, even though nobody cared. The darkness inside my body has deepened itself to the point that I can't breathe without hindrance. If I could show you a visual graphic of how this darkness feels, you will see black thick branches wounded around my heart and lungs like that of an ancient oak tree. And when I start to speak, those branches reach inside my throat and they gag my tongue, breaking my voice. The person I want to be is trapped inside my body which does not feel like my own. I'

Elena's silver-blue eyes flickered with shadows, the darkness within her surging in response to his intensity. She could feel it coiling inside her, hungry and restless, waiting for the moment of weakness that would allow it to take control. "You don't have a choice, Kaelen.
