My tone changed, losing the fake playfulness it held moments ago, a frown creased my forehead, "Wasn't she?" I pressed my palms on both sides of the handrest and leaned forward, "You see, when I kill someone, they're supposed to stay dead." I rolled my eyes, "But for some reason, all the dead people in my life somehow come back to life and they make their way into mine and screw it up."

I felt Rai's lips on my neck and closed my eyes. "Alejandro and Richard cleaned it all," he mumbled against my skin. "You can read my mind Rai, don't lie about it," I said simply and looked up at his glowing eyes. I felt a shiver down my spine and knew instantly that a Shinigami was approaching. I wasn't concerned since we were both one and the same at least as far as our death aspects were concerned. I was certain that I knew this one and leaned towards Rai.

After that day, I never saw Emery again. Sasha's case caused a media storm due to its severity, and she was sentenced to death with immediate execution. Meanwhile, I was busy arranging a funeral for the two innocent children. In my previous life, Emery had managed to save them in time. This time, they could not escape their own mother's cruelty. On the day of the funeral, I stood before their graves with their favorite stuffed animals in my arms. I spoke softly to them. I prayed that they would be blessed with parents who truly loved them in their next lives.
