Before Dominic could step forward, a massive, black-iron battle axe swung through the fog, smashing into the stone pillar right above Regnar's head with a shower of deadly sparks. Out from the mist strode the leader of the heavy division a monstrous, scarred bear Beastkin named Vane. He stood over seven feet tall, his massive torso covered in thick leather armor and heavy iron plates. His dark, wild eyes locked onto Dominic, a malicious, guttural laugh escaping his throat.

“That beast above you.” Arth raised his head. “What’s he talking ab—” His lips slowly parted in shock, seeing an enormous beast with a bulked-up body. No doubt, it was a bergora, a mixed breed of a polar bear and white gorilla. It stood on the high branches of the tall trees, its dark, brown eyes fierce enough to make Arth’s heart jump. Arth yelled a curse, swiftly stepping backward as the beast suddenly jumped from the branches. The ground shook as the beast landed, strong wind blasting hard.

"You need your strength." "You need it more," she said simply. Warmth spread through me. The burning faded a little. The pain dulled, but her face had gone pale. Before I could thank her, the ground trembled beneath us. Trees shook. Birds scattered. Out of the shadows, they came—huge beasts, half-human, half-boar. Wereboars.
