He carried a cane topped with a simple silver wolf’s head, and behind him stood a legion of soldiers in "Null-Armor"—suits designed to absorb kinetic energy and ground it into the earth.

Lean, but cut with muscle, she wore a long black coat—something Death would have worn if he wanted to modernize his cloak to something more fashionable. She left the coat hanging open. It flapped back and forth with the stormy breeze traveling throughout the room. Under the coat was what could only be described as a cat-burglar suit—black and skin tight, leather with two large daggers strapped to her thighs. Black boots finished the look off. Silver hooks stuck out the tips.

The Ghost led them to a rack of sleek, matte-black tactical gear. It looked like something out of a sci-fi movie—lightweight kevlar, integrated comms, and mag-boots for climbing vertical surfaces. "Put this on," the kid said, tossing a bundle to Leo. "It’s breathable, so you won't roast in the vents. It’s also fire retardant, which might be important if Eleanor decides to torch the place." Leo stripped off the heavy coat and the ill-fitting combat trousers. He pulled on the black suit. It was like a second skin, hugging his muscles, leaving nothing to the imagination.

I'm only thankful I chose to do the laundry myself instead of having the housekeeping bots handle it. My brother and sister worked hard on the design. Helios worked out the specs for the suit while Khione drew it and picked the colour scheme. It was a flattering design, capturing the shape of my body perfectly while also being number one for safety. One of my favourite birthday gifts.

She recognized the black pants from this morning, but she’d never seen the weapons belt he buckled on, or the gun in the low holster against his right thigh. A silver dagger hilt rode his left hip. She stared. He grinned. “Standard uniform, you’ll be seeing a lot of it. Come on, let’s go blow your mind.”

Julian reached into a crate and pulled out a lightweight, titanium-weave Kevlar vest. He stepped directly into her space. Maya’s breath hitched as he slid the vest over her shoulders. His massive hands were completely steady as he secured the heavy velcro straps across her ribs and waist, his knuckles brushing deliberately against her sides. "It's heavy," Maya whispered, her honey-brown eyes locked onto his chest.

Like an ethereal serpent, it slithered up and down his body, conforming to his every contour with a snug fit. The fabric hummed with power, pulsating with a vibrant energy that seemed to resonate with his own spirit. A surge of exhilaration coursed through him as he marveled at the transformation.
