He struggled in my hold but I didn’t let go, gathering every bit of energy in me and sinked my canines harder until I felt him go limp in my dead. Dead. His body fell to the ground with a heavy thud, unmoving. Jake rush towards me just as I shifted back with the last energy I could gather, falling into his arms. “Let go. Everything is fine now.” He whispered and just like that, my eyes shut close, allowing darkness engulf me with one last thought in my head. Everything is fine now. Author’s Note: We have come to the end of the story. The epilogue will be posted tonight or tomorrow and whatever is missing in details right now would be revealed in the epilogue. Blushing she clamped her mouth shut. "You are amusing halfling." He smiled, giving her a little bow before turning incorporeal once more and disappearing. Once alone she eased the tray off her lap and got off the bed. Digging through her bags she pulled out her iPod and headphones. Climbing back into the bed she situated the tray beside her and pulled the books over her lap. Munching down on French toast and plugging in her headphones she opened History of the Demonarchies first...and nearly spit out her food.

I lay in his arms in a pool of my own blood, the sound of his beating heart lulling me into a slumber I'll never awaken from. So, with the last of my strength, I wipe my blood-covered hand across the tears streaking down his face. "Forgive yourself... for me." With those last words, my hand falls, and death takes me in its arms one last time. **** I don't need someone to tell me what that was. My mother went through it, so did Elias. And now, so have I. I've just foreseen my death. "Now, where were we?" ****THE END****

"Beherit is going to be so happy when we bring you to him." Elodie laughed, "Who said we were going anywhere with you." The demon laughed, "You think you can fight all of us and win?" Out of nowhere I saw a silver chain slip through Elodie's hand and the curved blade on the end almost touched the ground. "Oh, I think we will be just fine", she said as we all readied for a fight. Elodie spun around in a deadly dance and sank the blade into the neck of the demon next to the leader. She pulled the chain back and the blade slid through his neck like butter. The leader growled, "Get them, kill them if necessary. Beherit will be just as happy with bodies."

Shadows exploded outward in a wave of darkness—and then began to unravel. Lucian’s eyes widened, his grip on his sword faltering. “No… this isn’t… how it ends…” Selene met his gaze, unwavering. “It ends with the light, Lucian. It ends with hope.” The darkness receded like a dying storm. Lucian crumpled, his armor cracking, shadows fleeing his body like rats from a sinking ship. His final breath was a ragged exhalation—then nothing but silence. Selene staggered back, exhausted, the Lunaris Blade now dull and lifeless in her hand.

The evil wasn't crazy; it was logical. Finally, the scenes of the Grey Empire faded. She was back in a familiar place. The living mountain. She saw Liora, Ronan, Kael, Elara, and Lyra as young people. They were tired and scared, but their eyes were full of fire. She saw them building their sanctuary. She saw Lyra’s birth. She saw the love and the struggle. She saw the final battle. She saw Ashiel’s sacrifice. She saw him erased by the divine light, and she felt Liora’s grief as if it were her own. She wept inside the headset, the tears hot on her real cheeks.

With that, the demon walked out from the chambers, leaving behind the one thing he had always treasured the most. She stared at the blood-stained walls with glee, her eyes were back to the darkest shade of purple, her humanity vanishing again.

The Demon sucks one more mouthful of the werewolf’s blood then pulls his fangs out of her neck and lets her go, allowing her to fall to the ground, leaving the dagger embedded in her chest. As he shuts down his body to preserve the last of his life, the last thing King Dominic and Caleb saw was Seraphina’s pale seemingly lifeless body slip from the Demon’s arms with a bite to her neck and a dagger buried deep in her chest. Tears flood his eyes as he gives in to the darkness…

She felt a warm feeling when she saw him appear. “Is the demon prince still missing?” she asked. Caiden nodded. “The odd thing is that no one seems to be trying hard to find him. It’s like they know exactly where he is.” “That’s odd,” Clara agreed. “I’m happy that you are the only demon I’ve met.” “I am,” Caiden said immediately. “We’re very compatible.” “I don’t think I will be saying that when the contract comes to a close,” Clara mused. “I wonder how I will feel after I’ve achieved revenge. What happens at the end of our contract? I know you have seen it.”
