Diamanté went to run the back of his hand against Asha’s face, but Young growled out, “don’t you dare touch her.” Both demons eyed him and shared a troubling look. “The council sent us to see how your progress is going and imagine our surprise when we find you humaning around with your little doll,” Damon said.

Gahiji said as he addressed the male who was still smacking his lips as if he was trying to analyze Tamara’s blood. “She is not a demon dog, too. They have red eyes like other demons, but they taste and smell different, so she isn’t one of them.” The male said, then he went to stand where he was again and I looked down at Tamara and tucked some of her hair behind her ear as I watched her sleep. They thought that she might be a demon dog. The lowest on the hell ladder. Some of the weak demons chose to shift into some animal form, and they stay like that as they served a chosen master.

Finally, the leader seemed to get bored of their lazy strikes and feinted to the left and all she could do was scream as he seemed to sink his sword into Tamhas' side. He smiled to himself before and expression of pain crossed his features. She looked down same as him in time to see Tamhas' sword through his stomach. He dropped to one knee then fell on his face bleeding out onto the forest floor. She was shaken out of her frozen state when Tamhas groaned. She rushed to had s side to see a deep cut that was oozing blood. Tearing a piece of his shirt, she pressed it onto the wound. "Don't you dare die on me Tamhas!" She yelled, involuntary tears flowing into her eyes.

But one thing they are doing for sure is holding back the incoming assault of Abominations and hybrid. I stumble on something. A body. The empty eyes of the mauled children's father looks up at me, his claws flung outward mid-transformation…Blink and I'm back in Halden as it burns, with the dead elf staring up accusingly at me…Blink and it's Quain. Blink and it's Cyran. Blink. It's me. A mage is making his way towards us. Cyran doesn't see him, and neither do I, because he's behind us. Myla turned to him with wide eyes. “That’s too much, why are you doing this?” But Ares didn’t even glance at her. “Why are you still standing here? Take her away!” The guards nodded then grabbed on to Samantha and dragged her away. She didn’t scream nor beg for forgiveness, she just kept staring at Myla with and intent Myla couldn’t identify. “Get someone to clean this up, you’re all dismissed as well” Ares muttered before crossing over the dead body and walking away. Myla stared down at the body in utter dismay. She didn’t know why but she had actually start to think that Ares wasn’t as bad as she had grown up to believe but he was much worse, he really was a monster.

The tattooed man kicked again, doubling me over as his foot connected with my stomach. "Any last words?" He sneered, leaning over me. I forced my gaze up, meeting his eyes. He grinned, warping the sun tattoo into an odd shape on his cheek. "Well?" I opened my mouth, about to cuss at him when he fell forward, covering me in a splatter of blood. I gasped. I'd thought the pain from him kicking me was bad, but the pain of his dead weight bearing down on my beaten body had me balancing the edge of consciousness. I looked up, trying to force the engulfing black away and met pale blue eyes. It seemed my guardian wasn't just a pretty face.
