The tabby’s eyes glinted with dry amusement. “You mean the hunt for the dragon prince’s—” began a scruffy grey cockatoo perched above, but the cat shot it a glare. “Yeah, yeah, you get the point. No need spellin’ it out, feather-brains. Use yer head, will ya?” A hoarse, wheezy laugh erupted from a balding rabbit still stuck in its cage. Its mangy brown fur stood in strange patches, as though bitten off by disease, or worse.

I think they were talking about a video game or something by the sound of things. Harlan stood beside me looking unimpressed. "Why are you showing me this?" he asked with an edge of annoyance. "I told you, I can't control what I see," I lied. "It's not always useful," I went on, watching as a cute little brown rabbit hopped out onto the pathway just ahead of Dean and young Harlan. Harlan sneered beside me. "This is pointless!" he asserted, gesturing towards the two brothers walking through the forest. With absolute horror, I watched as young Harlan took a running start, lifting his leg and kicking the rabbit so hard that it flew into the air, tumbling through the underbrush before landing wi

Older rabbit-women were segregated from the younger ones. While young rabbit-women were tasked with producing bloodstones, the older rabbit-women were in charge of producing the next generation of men and rabbit-women. The men also gave these older rabbit-women full prerogative over their younger counterparts. The rabbit-women whose wards had the best track records would be given full food rations. Those who did not would be sold off to the brothel so that older, weaker men with fetishes could have them. As for the young rabbit-women under their care, they would be sent to other households.

"Here, take a look." Darin stared at the rather unsightly rabbit figurine that had been thrust into her view, and it felt as if a voice echoed in her ears. "You're a young lady! Why are you climbing trees? Who taught you that? It hurt when you fell, right? Why are you crying? You're grounded! You won't come with us to the Starlight Harvest Festival to watch the lantern show!" "Don't cry. Didn't you want a rabbit figurine? I'll make you one."

The circle of life, brilliant and disgusting. Perhaps the rabbits were the same. Being eaten and then encased in shit was part of their life cycle. It also seemed to evolve them, like some horrific version of pokemon. Pikadudu turns into Jigglyturd. I could see why the people in Probet had reacted the way they did whenever we asked them about eating the rabbits. “I think their horns might be worth collecting.” I put the horn I was holding in the sack on Dudley’s back. “We should hunt them.”

Rabbit nearly choked on air, Rabbit-“ I think you derailed off the course of you asking about my wellbeing” Skyler-“ I wanna know rhe well-being of your Professor’s dick” Rabbit-“bye!”

Rest, as if any of us could. The rabbit, my rabbit, won’t leave me alone. The others disappeared into nothing, while mine stayed sleeping in my arms. I didn’t question it. I enjoy the company. It follows me everywhere, silent except for the faint tap of claws on stone. When it moves, its fur catches the light like frost. When it sits still, it almost disappears. The others give it a wide berth. The first time Dax got too close, it hissed, low and warning, teeth glinting sharper than they should be. He backed off immediately, muttering something about witchcraft. I didn’t correct him. Let them think what they want.

Hence, everyone was surprised to see Rabbit for themselves. “Sir, is that the mysterious and powerful rabbit that was rumored outside? Why don’t we catch it and see if we can find something about it? Even if there’s nothing special about that rabbit, it’s fun to keep a talking rabbit around!” a lapdog said excitedly, clearly very curious about this talking rabbit. “You’re right. Who can refuse a talking rabbit? It’s fun to keep it as entertainment. If I use it to pick up women, I believe more women will fall in love with me!”

It felt so surreal seeing it in person. Alpha Holden of Crimson pack, son of Luna Soyra... "Your mother would be proud," I breathed in heavily as I reminisced about my own family, all lacking proper burial sites. Suddenly, there was a small rustle from the bushes that caught my attention. It was a small white rabbit, curiously venturing closer to us. The rabbit's black eyes were tracking the floor, while its whiskers flickered in the air. Damian curiously raised his eyebrows and looked to me. "What's it doing?"

"They are designed to fail." "That is what people say when they are bad at them." "I am not bad at them. They are rigged." I inserted a coin and moved the claw. I positioned it over a small pink rabbit. I pressed the button and watched the claw descend. It grabbed the rabbit. It lifted it up. It carried it to the drop zone. It released the rabbit into the chute. I pulled the rabbit out and held it up. "Rigged," I said. "Definitely rigged."
