I despise him so much and it is so hard to hide from this world when you know that every corner of this Academy is shouting Cayden's name. We just went to the shelves and I looked for a book to read because. I was thoroughly checking the books when I touched a book and it felt like I was suddenly electrocuted so I immediately let go. Shit, is this what they call static? I was curious, I looked at the book and I raised my hand again to touch it and this time I was not electrocuted. I took the book and looked. It is a brownish color book with moleskin. It looks old but still, it is in a good condition. I just read the title of the book.

Keeping it pressed against my chest, I started walking in the direction of the librarian. "Can I borrow this book?" I asked her, and I placed the book on the table in front of her. She looked shocked. "Why did you touch the book?" the librarian asked, snatching the book from my side. "Why can't I?" She raised her head to look at me. She stood up from her chair and declared, "Touching the bookshelves in the last corner is forbidden. Don't you know that?" That came as a complete surprise to me. It was the first time I had ever heard of any rules pertaining to these books.

"If you want us to put on this act, then we need to set some ground rules for when we are alone. The first is you not invading my privacy." As I speak, I reach out and grab the book he was reading, then hide it behind my back. "The second is that you will not just touch me anytime you please." "Why?" He asks, taking me by surprise. "Are you afraid you're going to want more? I read some of that book you've been reading. You're a very naughty girl." Letting a grin spread across his face, he gets comfortable on the bed. "His hands danced across her bare skin, sending waves of pleasure through her." He begins to quote. "But just touching wasn't enough, she..."

“I can do this. It’s fine. A power boost to help make everything right. It’s okay.” Quickly, she reached out and grabbed hold of the ancient book. Nora clutched it to her chest and smiled. She turned to look at Winter and Roman. “I did it!” she exclaimed. “I totally did it!” “Awesome!” Winter said, smiling. “But wait. Somethings not right.” “What do you mean?” Nora asked. “The book isn’t glowing. Normally, when someone from the family touches it, the book glows.” Nora raised an eyebrow. “Maybe it’s broken?”

Marcus replied and walked closer to the book. I joined him. It was true what he said. I felt a faint pulse coming off it. “Have you touched it?” He asked. I shook my head. “It does not seem like a wise decision,” I said. “I have had my fair share of dealing with objects of power.”

He just would not touch the book. "No. I will not touch that book. Even if I touch it, I do not think I will be able to open it." He finally reaches for the book and true to his word, he could not open it. "What? I have been reading through that book! How can it be sealed as if it is not a book when you hold it?" I am truly puzzled.

“Stop now!” Wren watched in amazement as a book stopped in midair and hovered there. Little Bob saw it and smiled. Viktor saw it and went pale. Cat and Hanna both watched silently, with Cat raising an eyebrow. “Stop breaking things here. Please, just put it back,” Lindsay said calmly. The book turned and came at her. She threw her hand up, trying to keep it from hitting her in the face, but it stopped inches from her. She put her hand down. “Please, put the book back. If you like it here, you can stay, just quit scaring my friends.”

Apparently hitting the popular girl with logic was the wrong thing to do. “Alright.” I mutter slowly, reaching below the counter. I grab the rag I use for dusting and start wiping over each book. I know it's not what she asked for but there is no way she’s going to get me to lick these books. I love a good hardback but not enough to go to second base with one. Silence falls between us; each of the girls keeps her eyes on me as I slowly move from one book to the other, when I get to the fourth book, the bell above the door tinkles once more.

That meant someone had touched it recently. I bent down and picked it up. On the cover, faint silver letters read: Confidential: Do Not Touch My fingers tightened around it. Why would someone hide this behind ordinary accounting books? I glanced at the door to check if no one was there. Slowly, I opened the first page. A sharp knock suddenly interrupted me. The book slipped from my hands and hit the floor. “Miss Aria?” a guard called from outside. “Yes?” I answered, heart racing. “The Don wants you in his study. Now.”

I never did. The book slips from my fingers and lands on the floor with a soft thud. I don’t pick it up.
