There were beakless birds, armadillo squirrels, and disturbingly large insects that buzzed around in circles as a muddy path ran deep and in different directions through the center of this colorful madness. The birds flew out of their nests and took to the skies up and above the noise, searching to catch the fattest worm. The squirrels jumped in and out of trees like monkeys but smaller and with their stomachs spread out like a mat; but their backs were as hard as steel. Hovering silently till they landed on branches the size of mallets.
