Edgar Award Winners Novels & Stories

Different artists from all over the world were brought to perform, and two commendians came to entertain us. It was fun and it brought a smile and laughter to my face. Finally, after hours of entertainment, the host announced that it was time to give out the awards. “These are the nominees for best blogger of the year, Josephine Langford, Rita Hayworth, Billie marten, Gato Chandelier and Andrew Garage.” “And the winner of the best blogger of the year goes to Josephine Langford!!!” The crowd clapped as Josephine walked up stage and took the awards.

I guess I had to be patient to watch them win awards. Halfway through the award show, the first individual award is called and Udar is a winner. He won the award for Ambassador of the year. I can see tears of joy in Fatima’s eyes; I can tell she is very proud of her fiancé. Ismail also gets an individual award, and one I would have never guessed him winning. Ismail won the award for Lifetime Achiever. I never knew Ismail has such a big impact on the gaming industry. “I am so proud of you,” I say to him once he returns to his seat.

Polite applause. “Most Realistic… Lucas Davenport!” More clapping. I squeezed Eddie’s shoulder. His fingers crossed behind his back. “And finally,” Darlene smiled, “our Imagination Award goes to… Eddie Emerson for Sparkle Fang: King of the Volcano Lake!” The room burst into polite applause as Eddie’s face lit up like a Christmas tree. “Holy smokes!” he yelped, bolting up front. Claire whooped, and I clapped so hard my palms stung. He accepted the ribbon — a neon blue one with glittery writing — and posed beside Darlene as someone snapped a picture.

Chapter 88 – Gray at the Temples, Gold in the Glow (Eli POV – 18 Years Later) The award sat on the mantel like it was embarrassed to be there. A small glass plaque—nothing flashy—engraved with “Best Edited Literary Collection” and the name of the anthology I’d spent three years fighting for. Authors from six countries. Voices that had almost been silenced. A book that almost didn’t exist. It won on a Thursday. I found out at 7:12 p.m. via email while Dante was in the garage tinkering with the old motorcycle he swore he’d “fix one day.”

"We'd figure it out. But I'm glad we don't have to." The award presentation came after dinner. We were the third category announced, and I felt my heart racing as they read the nominees. "And the Morrison Award for Creative Excellence goes to..." The presenter paused dramatically. "Daniela and Thomas Reid of Reid Creatives." The applause was thunderous. Thomas took my hand as we walked to the stage, and I was grateful for the support because my legs felt unsteady. "This is surreal," I whispered. "This is real," he whispered back. The presenter handed us a crystal award that was heavier than I'd expected.

“I heard the NAMSA award nomination list was announced today. Were you not among the nominees?” “I’m always nominated and I always win; it’s nothing new.” “Um,” Grandpa Ed said, sounding a bit defeated. Noticing Ed’s eagerness to engage with his grandson, I decided to help. “How many nominations?” I asked. “Four,” Michael replied. “Care to share the titles?” I tilted my head. “Businessman of the Year, CEO of the Year, Best Sales Made in the Year, and the International Recognition Award,” he listed. “Although it seems I finally have a worthy opponent after five years.”

I’m more surprised with him being her partner instead. “Mn! And guess who won?” “...” Edgar blanked out for a moment. Gradually, his brows raised up. “Don’t tell me it was you guys?!” His heart burst with pride. “Well, no--” “Oh..” Edgar’s joy dissipated. “I was her partner but I’m not part of the contest. I’m only like a prop that time. Katherine won first place.” His breath was caught in his throat, he almost choked on his own saliva.

Ed gave Sarah a thumbs up. “It’s actually all thanks to the winner of this year’s award” Sarah responded with a bit of mystery. The results of the vote would only made public during this ceremony. The only people who had the privilege of the knowledge of the results were the three-person committee responsible for this award and the chief guest. This committee was selected by the forum of core members of the association before the announcement of the nomination call. This year it was Chelsey, Arthur and Sarah. “So powerful?” Ed raised his eyebrows. Everyone who knew Hon. Summers knew that he was a very private person. He would never indulge in occasions like this, not even with a gun to his h

She smiled, warmly hugging her husband along with the woman who was likely her mom as she rose to her feet, making way to the stage where she was not only given the award, but the microphone also. “Firstly, I'd love to thank my firm, Inkthrive, who supported me right from the very beginning, till the end. I'd also like to thank my readers, wherever you are watching from, I love you all!” She waved as she turned back to the woman. “It's an honor to win this award, thank you very much.” “And now, for the emerging writer award, the winner is…” the woman smiled, looking at the crowd for a moment like she enjoyed that look on their faces. “... Elysia Alderidge!”
