I could feel the strike of rubble against my heels as I ran towards the distant light, and we rolled free as the hallway we had come along, which had stood for as long as history had been recorded, and had been ancient then, collapsed inwards.
For a moment the jungle was still, as if the sound of the collapse had been an ill omen silencing all activity.
“Shit,” Akyran rose to his feet striking his hands against his clothing and sending dust to cloud the air. “Are you okay, Ecaeris?” He offered me his hand.
“Fine,” I let him pull me to my feet. “That’s not good,” I nodded to the collapsed entry. “Do you think the Seer and all the brethren within died in the collapse?”
