"Come sit. I made a full English breakfast. Your favorite." It used to be my favorite. Before pregnancy made the smell of bacon enough to trigger my gag reflex. I took the empty seat next to Lee, as far from Madison as I could get, and tried not to breathe too deeply. The table was indeed full. Bacon, sausages, eggs prepared three different ways, grilled tomatoes, mushrooms, baked beans, toast with various jams and spreads. It looked like Mom had cooked for an army instead of six people. There were fresh pancakes and sausages, french toast with bacon and sausages, eggs, hash browns and sausages. He smiled sheepishly and set the domes to the side.

I walked in and dropped the jacket on the bed. She needed some time to think and I could give her that. I left without saying a word and strolled to the kitchen. I was starving and I knew she was too. I thought of easy food to prepare and decided to make scotch eggs. It was the easiest meal I could make in twenty minutes. I got 300g of good-quality pork sausage, black peppercorns, cooked ham, apple & onion stuffing mix, and chopped sage, and took a second to think of what next I needed.

"Come on. Breakfast is ready, and if we don't eat it now, it's going to get cold." They headed downstairs hand in hand.
