Ancalagon: The Last Pure Dragon
“Don’t worry, Iniko. I won’t let them, or anyone hurt you, I promise. We’re friends, right?”
“Yeah. Friends,” he says, but he doesn’t sound happy about it.
I close my eyes, but before I drift off to sleep, I hear it, a dragon’s lament. It’s the saddest sound I’ve ever heard. I’m not sure if it’s his size or if it’s all just been too much for him, but Iniko begins his own lament, softer than the other one. I feel dragon tears falling down my face as the sound of the big dragon mingles with the sound of Iniko.
