“What’s got you in such a terrible mood this morning?” “Nothing,” I lied, forcing a smile. “Just didn’t sleep well. Couch was uncomfortable.” She didn’t look convinced, but she let it go. “Alright. If you say so. Come on, we’ve got rounds in twenty minutes.” We started walking together. That’s when I saw him. Enzo was standing near the end of the corridor with a pretty girl. She was laughing at something he said, her hand resting on his chest. Then she leaned up and kissed him, slow and deep. He kissed her back, one hand on her waist, looking completely unbothered.

It was probably part of the reason why I felt so safe and loved when I was with Enzo. He made sure I was always secure and for some reason he knew me well enough to recognize all of my signs that I gave when I felt uncomfortable. He insisted on keeping an eye on me, not only because he was my bodyguard, he cared about me. Sadly there weren’t many people in my life that cared that much. I needed someone warmhearted like him. Enzo was aware of his abilities but he knew his limits but wasn’t afraid to exceed his comfort zone. It was something I admired him for and wanted to learn from him in the future.

All I could do was scratch my head, and it seemed like I was going to lose my mind because of what he was doing to me. "Aiden, I didn't complete you to be like this, to be honest. Aiden the human is not acting like that, so can you please play your role?" My voice lowered and the tone of it seemed like I had already surrendered. "Is Enzo disappointed at me?" he almost whispered as he showed me his very naive face. I sighed first before going back to my bed to get the comforter there.

Carbon copy of each other. "Did uncle Enzo save you from an ugly man?" Rowan said next to me while playing with his toy car alongside Ace. "He did in fact." I replied to him smiling. "Do you love him like my mommy loves my papa?" Crystal asked me, butting into the conversation as she sat on the counter which was the same time Enzo came out from the steps, into the kitchen in an all short sleeved black suit, and his hair styled as it always was, with the tattoos on his hand being fully showcased along with his biceps that flexed with the smallest movements.

“You fucking carry my name now, Bella. You're Mrs Bella Enzo Barine. You no more belong to Marino's.”, Enzo roared. “I'm not a piece of land or some property that you own, Enzo. I'm a human and I breathe. I'm married to you, not sold.” Bella spoke with tears in her eyes as the grip on her arm was getting harder which might leave a bruise later.

"That's the spirit, Enzo. We don't have much time. We'll execute the plan right away. We'll bring Kendall back home safely." Enzo closed his eyes, his thoughts racing. He had just awakened from a coma to a nightmarish reality, but he knew that he couldn't let fear or uncertainty hold him back. With Kendall's life on the line, he had to become the hero she needed, even if it meant killing Charles. *******

"I believe you." I took a small sip. It was exactly how I liked it. I set the cup back down and leaned back in my chair, looking at the younger Marchetti brother. He was a complete contrast to the angry young man who had just stormed out of my office. "So, Enzo," I said, keeping my voice calm and direct. "Why are you really here?" Instead of answering right away, Enzo’s eyes wandered to the corner of my desk. He pointed a finger. "Is that a Parasaurolophus?"

“You saved my life.” There's that guilt again. Of course, he just had to add that. I roll my eyes. Zeke who has been silent all this while finally sits up and speaks. “What's your name?” His curious eyes focus on Enzo. “Lorenzo." Enzo replies with his eyebrows raised. “Is my mummy going to live with you?” “And you too, Champ. Your mum isn't doing well so she needs someone to take care of her.” Enzo replies, trying to make him understand.

How could Luigi ever forgive him for that? And even more complicated was the fact that Enzo wasn’t sure if he wanted forgiveness. The whole thing had happened so fast. Enzo had seen an opportunity to gain power, and he’d seized it. Enzo was an impulsive person by nature. He always had been. He wasn’t the sort of person to fully think things through.
