I freeze in my tracks when I hear voices from downstairs,followed by a loud bang,then shattering of glass.then the door to our bedroom flies open.i wince from the loud noise,jumping with fear. My eyes meet enzo.he stands in the doorway.tall and imposing.scary. His eyes were furious and wild,like a monster.he Stare at me but without recognition.he stared at me like I am a stranger.he looks unhinged.i have never seen him like this.

And as promised, I didn't say a word after that. He kept driving and called someone. " Adam Wilson, speaking...I will be there in three hours...... Yes, the flight was delayed a bit because of the bad weather..... I need a solution to that problem, immediately. " He said. I put the earphones in my ear and was lost in the melodious voice of my favourite singer. " Excuse me!! Will you please get up, I am already getting late." Someone shook my arm. I opened my eyes and was shocked to realise that I had slipped into slumber in the presence of a real stranger.

Haley’s stare is hot on my face, a protective aura surrounding her, coloring the atmosphere gray. “She’s fine.” Haley answers, her voice clipped, with an edge, but she bends over, unzipping the cover to reveal a mesh partition. It allows air flow but hides any definitive features. Zeke remains agitated, obsessed with the hidden babe stuck in the carrier, and for the life of me, I can’t figure out why. “So Enzo is a hybrid? What sect is his mother from?” “Siphone.” I answer, throwing my hands in my pockets, a pang of guilt eating away at me when I remember her story. I badly hoped she wouldn’t catch me chatting with a complete stranger in the lobby. A tall, dark, and intimidatingly good-looking stranger, at that. Enzo looked tanner than I remembered. Had he been to the beach recently? Or was he biking and playing tennis again? He’d mentioned his outdoor hobbies the last time he was here in the city. He was the type who couldn't sit still for a long while, to say the least. “But I know you’re busy studying, so, I won’t keep you out for longer than an hour.” He chuckled when I looked away. “I promise.” He held up his pinky.

Enzo is standing at the edge of the room, his eyes wide with fear as he watches the stranger. “Dad_” Enzo whispers, his voice shaky. I turn back to the figure, my anger rising. “Get away from my son.” The figure’s eyes gleam under the hood, but they don’t make a move. Instead, they chuckle softly, as if amused by my threat. “It’s not your son I’m after, Lorenzo. It’s you.” I feel my blood run cold. The words hit me like a punch to the gut. What do they want with me? What could I have possibly done to deserve this?
