"Your highness the king of.. " "How did this happen Darien?!" King Jacob, the king of Lukehall asked with a powerful tone as he barged in. Clinton had a look of suprise on his face. He did not expect the king to barge in. With a heavy sigh, he left. "Someone leaked information, we had no way of knowing.." King Jacob cut Darien shut; "Do you know what this has caused me! Men that weren't sufficient in my kingdom was sent to Devon, only for them to die like rats."

He gave one last lingering look at the Omega before disappearing and reappearing next to Lexon. The Elder was shocked to see the enraged state of his King. The anger rolling off of him was intense and overwhelming, even for him as an elder. Lexon looked at Ezra in shock when the king harshly grabbed him by the arm and yanked him forward. “Ezra! What's-” Lexon's words stopped the moment he heard his King's voice in his head. “I understand,” the Elder said and watched Ezra's eyes burn brighter. He could feel the heat emanating from the king. He briefly felt him in his head as the King sifted through the vast number of vampires, not stopping until he found what he was looking for.

He closed his eyes and felt the immense pain she was going thru. Waving his hand, a portal opened to the King's Mansion. Olivier nodded to the King allowing him to take her thru. "Zephyr you do realize she is going to have a very difficult night. Her powers are erupting. We will have to sit up and insure she does not pass to Elysium." Elysium was the gateway between Heaven and Hell. No one has ever truly known what happens but some rumors suggest the Gods decide if your worthy of returning or if your life is over with. Few Ancients have seen what truly happens and wish to not squander through such things.

I could feel the collective gasp of a million people through the neural link. "If you do this... they die!" I choked out, the silver net tightening around my throat. "The Scrappers... the children... they’ll suffocate!" "A small price for a new godhood," the King said, raising a jagged obsidian dagger. "Aethelgard doesn't need people, Zora. It needs a Sovereign." He brought the dagger down toward my chest. I closed my eyes, waiting for the end, waiting for the cold bite of the blade.

The bravado he usually wore was gone. "You remember the stories the priests tell?" I asked, pulling out a yellowed piece of parchment. "The one about the King being the chosen one? The one who keeps the sun rising?" Finn rolled his eyes. "Of course. 'The Eternal Flame.' It’s the first thing they teach you in the academy. It’s why the soldiers follow him. They think if he dies, the world goes dark. It’s a lie, Esme. We both know that. He’s just a man."

“What?” Elyra whispered: “They’ve created the Eternal Family Bond.” The First King slowly stepped backward. “What does that mean?” Elyra stared at the children. “It means nothing can separate them.” A pause. “Not even death.” Lucian smiled. “Then we’ve finally won.” Elyra looked at him. “No.” Her voice trembled. “You haven’t.” Lucian’s smile disappeared. “Why?” Elyra looked toward the sky. “Because something just woke up beyond the kingdom.”

He chuckled at my reaction, and I felt a lightness in my heart. "We will name him Ethan Sky Valor, our prince," he declared, his voice full of conviction. My heart fluttered at the thought, the weight of his words settling around us like a warm embrace. "Yes, our prince." "Our prince," I whispered, lost in the sweetness of that moment when I was pulled back into reality by a sudden, gut-wrenching sound. I felt my breath hitch as I heard him groan and cough up blood, the sight of it sending shockwaves through me.

He rose. As if sensing this, the Elder's bloodshot eyes landed on Noah with knowledge. He almost shivered but stood tall and passive. The Elder studied him for a moment but not long enough to risk his head. "Accept yourself ksei, as the King of us. The King Of Utrif," he announced. His voice had a certain question in it. Only a few were able to decipher it. But it was obvious he had voiced his discomfort for such a young King—the youngest they ever had—loud and clear. He had dared to question his King.

[King:] I go from a corruptible, to an incorruptible Crown, where no disturbance can be, no disturbance in the world. [Juxon:] You are exchanged from a temporal to an eternal crown. A good exchange.

The darkness around him flickered, fractured, and the shadow wolves fell to their knees, their red eyes going dark. Lysander twisted the blade. “This is for my mother,” he said. “For Kaelen. For every wolf you have consumed. For every life you have stolen.” The king’s red eyes widened. His body began to crumble—not into dust, but into shadow, the same shadow that had poured from Theron’s chest. It leaked from his wounds, his mouth, his eyes, dissolving into the air. “You cannot kill me,” the king gasped. “I am eternal. I am the darkness. I am the first hunger.”
