Evarius is waiting just outside the university gate for Tasha. She had texted him in the morning saying she had completed the book and wanted to talk. Evarius is nervous about this meeting because if she has completed the book, he has no idea what she might or might not have understood. He feels that it would perhaps be easier if she grasps the gist herself rather than him having to explain it to her.

Alpha Morgan picked it up and growled at the words from the other end. “That bitch got the boy twin. Eva’s got Millie. Where the hell is Leroy?” Alpha Morgan informed Sebastian as he slammed the phone down. “I am going to rip that bitch apart.” Sebastian thundered angrily, but his nostrils flared at that beautiful smell that had driven him crazy so many times already. Eva. She was here. “Eva is here.” He mumbled, causing the alpha to frown in surprise. They both hurried out the door and to the central pack grounds car park where Leroy’s car was parked up. We stepped on a frightened-looking Eva with little Millie.

Caesar's POV Now that my meeting with Mr Edward had come to an end and I'd closed the deal that had been incessant on my mind over a week, I felt like I can breath easily and all I had to do was pack up and go spend a night with my Marvelous. The smile on my face was so huge as I passed my employees at the lobby, marching to my car with graceful long strides. I couldn't wait to get home. Home felt like home even much more now that I had Chloe and Anley.

They could track down anyone who owed money, no matter where. When my parents discovered there were no zombies and no apocalypse, they questioned Giselle. She muttered in disbelief, "Impossible!" Mom hesitated. "Why don't we go outside and see for ourselves?" Giselle immediately blocked her. "No, the streets are full of zombies. If you get bitten, there's no surviving it!" They spent another two days holed up inside, and then the debt collectors finally showed. Giselle had chosen a front door fit for a zombie apocalypse. It was so sturdy that no matter what the collectors tried, they couldn't break in. All they could do was curse and walk away.

Her brows were furrowed when she said those and Lucas took note of the annoyance in her tone. “I was expecting you so I didn’t bother to.” This made her huff. “And what if instead of me, it’s those men who did this to you who appeared at your door? What are you gonna do?” Lucas chuckled and glanced at her. This made Eve saw a sneak of what he was holding. It’s a business book and a mug of coffee. “Don’t worry. those men can never do anything to me again. I already taught them a lesson.” The way he said those words made Eve flinch for some unknown reason. Why does he sound somehow cold and cruel?

EVE I sat listening to Kha and Drake snoring. It was a rare moment of peace. They lay on either side of me, fast asleep due to my command. Finally, I had a moment to myself when their thoughts and emotions weren't crushing me. I reached over to the nightstand, picked up my phone, and typed a message to Lori. "I'm freaking out, Lori. I want to leave. It's suffocating me here." Her response came quickly. "I understand, Eve. I know exactly how you feel. Meet me outside in twenty minutes. I'll take you somewhere you can breathe."

It stood up and walked out. I sighed. I want to cry right now. But I don't have to be weak! Grandma needs me. I turned to the sights I could see. But my vision stopped when I saw on the left side, it was far from Sebastian's palace. That part is dark. I can no longer see very well but that place is too far away. That part seems shady. Maybe it's raining. But why just there? What's in that place? Is it still the kingdom of Vlademort? I suddenly remembered the book I had seen earlier so I quickly closed the window and approached the shelf and handed over the book. I turned to Sebastian's exit door earlier. He was not there maybe he went down.

I agreed. We stayed like that until the evening shift change. Nurses came and went. My parents left with promises of more food tomorrow—Mom kissing my forehead but giving Eve only another polite nod on her way out. Marcus texted a dumb meme about concussions. Eve didn’t leave. She kicked off her shoes, curled her legs under her in the chair, and read aloud from the crossword book when I got too tired to focus on the clues myself. I drifted off somewhere between “seven-letter word for hope” and the sound of her voice.
