We emerged onto a rooftop where a helicopter sat waiting, its rotors already beginning to spin.
“Oh God,” I muttered.
They loaded me into the helicopter, strapping me into a seat near the door. Dorian climbed in beside me, still holding the gun casually in one hand.
“Ever flown before?” he asked conversationally as we lifted off.
“Not like this,” I managed.
The city fell away beneath us, lights twinkling in the darkness. The flight felt both endless and far too short. My mind spun with everything Dorian had told me.
Werewolves. Calder was a werewolf. That explained so much, the inhuman strength, especially when he was pressing against me.
