Nevertheless, I took one obviously meant for me, a mask with fierce wolf eyes and bared teeth, and Sarah took one without a wolf theme, something with rhinestones and feathers, and the auction began.

His hood fell back just enough for the neon light from the street to cut across his face. A black mask covered his nose and mouth. One eye was a bright metallic silver, catching the light unnaturally, like a prosthetic or something custom-made. The other eye... gods. It was a crystal clear green. That eye burned with a feverish intensity lit by a glint of pure, unfiltered madness. I leaned in, savoring the pulse of adrenaline and the thrum of danger under my skin. "Gotcha, Trouble."

The symbol was familiar to me, though I couldn’t recall where I’d seen it. One of the congregation, an unfathomably lanky creature draped in robes, heard my shaken voice and turned back to face me. I was taken aback by the mask it wore, a sickly white thing that bore the appearance of an androgynous human, the eyes black and lifeless, the mouth expressionless—and a series of gray nubs that squirmed and writhed just beyond the edge.

Chapter three- His Mask Third-person POV She looks at the performer dumbfounded by the singer who has a hat on and a mask on his face, he smiles in her way and she can see it from the way his eyes were shining in her way. Seconds later, she holds her chest as she feels her heart beating faster and her chest tightening. CHAPTER ELEVEN “Amara, you forgot about this.” Amethyst handed me a mask. The mask would only cover half of the wearer’s face, including the forehead and the area surrounding the eyes. It was a masquerade mask. It was shaped like those butterfly wings. It was crafted from silver, with crystal beads designed at its corners and a black sun with four rays at the upper center. It has a lace at both ends. “Who owns it?” Amethyst asked curiously.

This mask isn’t just fashionable, it was designed by Black Eagle and must be handled delicately. Unlike any of the other masks mine has been outfitted with a transmitter, as well as a small computer system designed to send information through nearly invisible lenses. It's so specialized that I know Katelyn Rose had to have crafted it, even though it was “Ms Smith” who handed it to me.

I looked down at what was inside and forgot whatever I'd been about to say because I was staring at the most gorgeous piece of attire for hiding one's identity. The mask was black velvet, shaped close, with lace framing the eye cutouts in a pattern that was so intricate it took a few moments to recognize that it was floral. It was geometric at the edges and from there slowly dissolving into a design more organic toward the centre.

An equally black baseball cap adorned my head and to match, I had on a nose mask that covered basically every of my facial features except my eyes. My eyes though, were on an entirely different level. With the emotions that ran through me at the moment, I was a hundred percent sure that my gaze would burn a hole through the glasses if i had decided to wear one. Plus it would be super uncomfortable. The fact that I was even dressed like this was an unwelcome surprise, and be rest assured that I wasn't going to spare the person who had recommended this to me.
