Bound To The Alpha Who Hates Me
Other times I'm lost in fever dreams—running through forests, being chased by shadows, searching for something I can't find.
At one point, I wake up crying. Not from physical pain, but from some dream I can't quite remember. Something about being alone forever.
"Hey, hey, it's okay." Kade's voice cuts through the confusion. "You're okay. I'm here."
"Don't leave," I hear myself say.
"I won't. I promise."
His hand strokes my hair—gentle, soothing—and I fall back asleep feeling safe.
When I wake again, it's morning. Light streams through the windows, and the fever has broken. I'm soaked with sweat but no longer burning up.
