STILL ON THE NIGHT STREET Mina POV "Very well then. Let's do it. Man to man," the stranger said. His voice was calm but strong. I heard the sound of his knuckles cracking,, and then everything exploded. The fight began so suddenly the sound of punches, kicks, grunts, and screams filled up the air. It all happened so fast, I could barely keep up. In minutes, four men lay on the ground around me groaning, bruised, and broken like trash someone threw away.

In the instant his eyes flicked toward the flying book, two things happened. The lights overhead blew out in a cascade of sparks. And I moved. One step, two, hand on my dagger, and then… Steel met flesh. Scarface screamed, stumbling back as I drove the blade into his thigh, twisting, then ripped his gun from his grip. He fired a shot that went wide, hitting a rusted pipe. Gianna ducked. I pressed my boot to his chest, forcing him down as Dario and the team stormed in, weapons drawn. “Clear!”

Stella didn’t have the capacity to reply she just kept running as the bones began to snap, then suddenly she was thrown forwards and she landed on all fours, fur erupted from her skin, and she felt her face lengthen. Holy fucking shit!! “Yeah, you did girly, now sit back and enjoy”. Stella felt herself take a step back from her consciousness and watch through Altena’s eyes as she began to run, after some time Stella’s eyes became heavy and she felt herself slipping into sleep. Athena I can’t keep my eyes open I need to sleep. “It’s okay girly sleep, you’ll wake up in the morning” And with that Stella fell asleep as Athena was racing though the pack lands with Nep and James in toe.

I didn’t kill anyone until I was eighteen, when Baz and I snuck out and got in a bar fight that went south when the dickhead recognized me. I’ve never killed as much as I am right now. Not after everything. Not when my brain screamed at me to fight him off. But my body—traitorous, reckless—was already betraying me. Heat coiled low in my stomach, a sharp reminder of that night.

He took the weapon from Victor’s hand and threw it into the dark. Victor lay there. He tasted blood and gravel. Dominic pressed the barrel of his piece against Victor’s forehead. "Open your eyes," Dominic said. Victor kept them shut. "Just do it. Get it over with." "Open them." Victor opened his eyes. He looked into the black hole of the barrel. "It’s cold," he whispered. I snatched Athena from her and pushed her into the car, the impact made the car stumble a few distance away. But I never anticipated the next group to attack me. While I was trying to protect Athena, they started tearing my back. Once again, I lay down Athena and received unrelenting attacks behind me. They were able to inflict a lot of damage.
