It was rewriting the code. And the story was finally starting to remember who held the cursor.

A Gunfight in the Depths of Hell Gunfire echoed through the ancient fortress as Alma and her team took cover. Ember hacked the central system while Zehra provided cover fire. “We’ve got three minutes before this place locks us in permanently!” Ember yelled. Ezra covered Alma. “We need to blow the archive!” “No,” Alma said, rage lighting her veins. “We need to rewrite it.” She stormed toward the central core, plugging in a modified chip Cvetko had given them. “Let’s show him what real evolution looks like,” she whispered.

He made a cut on my palm, handed the knife back to Lucas, and then pressed his palm to mine. At first, nothing happened. “I, Keiran Garrison, alpha of the Crystalvalley pack welcome you Cora Marlin to my pack.” As soon as he finished speaking, sharp pain flashed through me. I gasped and tried my best to breathe through the pain. It was much worse than Keiran explained. My eyes snapped up to Keiran’s. The moment our eyes locked, the pain disappeared and memories flooded my mind. I saw a younger version of Keiran, Ryder, and June. There were images of a man that I assumed was their father. It was like watching a movie about his childhood.

An atmosphere of suspense shroudded the chamber. Vamoire grinned. “Because the Alpha’s stupid luna has the guts to save his useless Alpha. She is ready to fight against us; we are ready. And she is on her way.”

He would know what to do. “Sierra…” Radar’s voice jolts me out of my blank zoning out and I blink at his face as he tries to move his body a little. Coming to from what I assume was unconsciousness and flutters his lashes as his eyes begin to open. His face is a mess, covered in dirt, grime, and blood, but his scratches and cuts are slowly receding as her magic does its work. Even thinking she’s too weak to undertake something like this, Radar’s skin is pinking up and his deepest wounds are starting to close albeit very slowly. I guess having the kind of love for him has an effect to how potent her skills can be. She is literally giving it her all to save him. I almost cry in joy as I watch

“That’s all I’m asking, Mia. Just one step at a time. You’ve already done more than you think.” I nodded, even though my heart was still heavy. The road ahead felt long and uncertain, but I had to keep moving forward. I couldn’t let Emma slip away without trying. I had to find a way to make her see that I was sorry, that I was trying to change. And maybe, just maybe, I could find a way to save both of us from the past we’d been trapped in. Day 3

The wolves are silent and watching, so still that a pin drop could be heard. “She is on the list for the awakening tomorrow night….as a wolf, you know she won’t be so vulnerable…… She’s right… Eve will maybe respond to her, even in this state. They have always had a special bond. And the way this began might mean Eve will still come for Eden.” Leyanne moves beside me, hand on the small of my back, and encourages me to step back to my father. “What choice do we have? You said it yourself… we can’t get her unless we coax her out. She will come for me….if that’s all you need. The pack can circle me… Keep me safe.”

I spat out a mouthful of blood and winced as I turned my head toward the passenger seat. Upon seeing Keaton Rourke wedged between the airbag and the seat, I ground out, "You disabled the airbag, didn't you?" He looked at me like he wanted me dead. He ignored my question, raised an eyebrow, and smirked. "Hate to break it to you, but even with you bleeding out, Teresa will still come to me first." I hunched over in pain, clutching my stomach with both hands. My vision was blurring, and I could barely keep my eyes open, but I still had to defend Teresa Bellamy. "She is my wife. There is no way she would save you before me."
