Liora, seated cross-legged beside a potted vine, tapped her fingers to her lips. "Wanna see something?" she whispered. And then, like she'd breathed life into it, the vine shimmered silver and unfurled a single, blushing flower. Her laugh was breathy and bright, and when she looked at us, she glowed faintly at the edges. Literally.
"She does that all the time," Mirenya mumbled with a mock eye-roll, perched upside down on a throw pillow like a bat. "Photosynthesizes compliments too, I bet."
