I wasn't about to wreck a home. "So dumb." I wipe my eyes on my knees, but the tears don't stop. I look up and can see people making their way through the trees towards me. I sniff and rest my chin on my hands. My eyes trail down, and through my blurry vision, I can see dozens and dozens of flowers blooming around me. I furrow my brow, wiping at my eyes again and moving to sit on my knees and crouch over the flowers. I hadn't wiped my hands on the ground, but they were still blooming. Pink ones, purple, white. Still smaller than a quarter, but slightly bigger than the last ones I made bloom. And there were a lot more of these too. They continued to appear around where I sat as I watched.

Behind me, his figure loomed like a shadow grafted to mine. He bent slightly, plucking a white flower from the edge of the water. “Do you know what this is?” I didn’t answer. “Moon lily,” he said. “It blooms only under enchantment. It survives by absorbing other flowers’ roots.” He held it out to me. “A perfect metaphor.” I looked at the flower, then at him. “For what? Parasitism?” “For evolution,” he said smoothly. “For strength through assimilation. For understanding that purity is just a slower form of death.”

“If I speak, I’ll cry. If I cry, I’ll break. And I’m afraid no one will put me back together.” She took a long breath and lifted out the fragile rose. The maid's eyes watered. “Would you like me to call Grace again?” Thersa shook her head. “No. Not yet. Grace brings truth. And I’m not ready for that either.” There was silence. Only the sound of petals brushed one another. Then, softly, Thersa said, “When I was little, I used to think people who liked flowers were soft. Now I know....they’re the strongest. Because they know beauty grows where no one sees the roots.”

~ Collins pov~ Immediately after the tour,we went to our different homes,I made sure Flora was out of sight before following her. Am tired of all the crap going on,flora and this school.All the student blood especially Flora's makes me want to feast. I am only transferred to this because of what I intend to collect from Flora,just a little if her blood can do wonders. it can improve the strength of any vampires,it can heal a wounded wound. Taking a chance, I reached over, holding her hand. “Unlike any other flower, the sunflower is a flower I admire and like the most. Because even on the darkest day, they have the strength to stand tall and find the sunlight.”

Many people buy them when they need renewed energy.” I swallowed hard, then nodded. “I think I need that.” She smiled back, not asking much. She just said, “If you want, you can choose this one. The flowers are fresh, they just arrived this morning.” I gently stroked the petals. They felt smooth, as if they held the warmth of an invisible sun.

She overheard Nancy enthusiastically persuading her to consume various supplements. Chiyoko was arranging a bunch of champagne roses one by one into a flower vase, wearing a sweet and contented smile. Those vibrant champagne roses were Flora's favorite, symbolizing nobility and purity. Raising her shoes, Flora involuntarily walked towards that exquisite bouquet. Her appearance caught Nancy's attention, who looked at her with a hint of gloating before leaving. Chiyoko also noticed her, and her smile deepened.
