"Enough!" My back hit a vase, and the vase shattered. My thigh landed on the shards, and blood immediately gushed out. “What is?” “That thing,” she said, pointing weakly toward the fracture. “It’s not free. Not yet.” As if the world itself wanted to prove her wrong— The chains in her mind snapped. Not all. But one. A deep, echoing crack rang out from the hollow, and the energy surged violently upward, forcing everyone back as a shockwave ripped through the ground. Stone shattered. Dust exploded into the air. And something pushed closer to the surface. A shape. Still incomplete.

"Freedom is not a destination. It is something you fight for every single day, usually in the dark, usually alone." VIVIAN The heavy bag swings back toward me and I pivot and drive my elbow into it hard enough that the chain holding it creaks in protest. Again. And again.

"But do you comprehend the forces you would defy? The powers that forged these bonds?" "I know what I face," I snapped, folding my arms, the brief success with my mana fueling a desperate courage. I’ve stared into the maw of oblivion, haven't I? This is just another cage to break. My gaze locked with his, unwavering. "I will see you walk free, Cassius. Just as I will walk free. And it will be soon."

“I’m just tired.” He nodded. “Rest, then. We have a lot to prepare for.” As he closed his eyes, I stared at the ceiling, counting the cracks in the plaster and the patterns in the shadows. Freedom wasn’t a dream anymore. It was being built. Day by day. And I wasn’t alone in the house of glass anymore. Tomorrow, it would begin again. But this time, I wouldn’t be the one breaking. I’d be the one shattering.
