By the time we’re done, I lean back in my chair, completely satisfied, and happy. So… unbelievably happy. I glance at him and I see that he’s already looking at me. My lips curve slowly. “I'm bored,” I blurt out. “Really?” He asks in a very surprised tone, like being bored is a crime. And I immediately get it. He might think I'm bored of him or his company. “I mean, I'm itching to do something fun,” I quickly say. “Hmmm,” he murmurs. “Something like what??”

About fifteen minutes into the drive, I asked, “Why so slow?” “Oh, I’m sorry. Do you feel the need, the need for… going faster?” I laughed so loudly I almost snorted and had to put both of my hands over my nose since even a baby like me recognizes the famous movie quote he almost said. “You’re a funny guy in an unassuming way.” He turned a slight shade of pink. “Yeah, well, in our line of work you have to find some way to be a little bit of a comedian, or you’ll end up in the loony bin.”

He could not control his mind when it replays the scene from last night and this morning. “Yuck, you’re disgusting, Mills. Keep it in your pants, will you?” he shrugged his shoulders in exaggeration. “Are you so bored Simon? What the hell are you doing here?” he sounded irritated. “Yes, I’m so bored. I didn’t expect you would come, but I was hoping you would come. And now that you have come, I don’t know what to do?” he pouted his lips which immediately annoyed Mark. “BULLSHIT!!!”

Maybe if I were normal, he would be my type. “He is.” Unfortunately, sweet is the equivalent of boring to me. She squeals, my answer surprising her, and I know she’s picking dates for our next double date. Adam returns with my drink a couple of minutes later. “For the lady.” I take it, then shuffle over as he scoots in beside me. “So, tell me about yourself.” “Nothing to tell; my life is pretty boring—work and then home.” “Maybe I could spice it up for you.” Yeah, if mayonnaise was considered a spice. I giggle.

She asked in a monotone voice with an eyebrow raised. This is unbelievable. How is it undignified to go through my ‘things’? “Helen, you don't have to be so stuck up. Do you ever just loosen up? I am just checking out my new stuff. Moreover, I am so, so bored here. I feel like I am dying of boredom. All I do is eat, sleep, and study documents. What do you guys ever do for fun around here?”

“Why am I even noticing that?” No answer, obviously. I grabbed the remote and turned on the television, flipping through channels without actually watching anything. Ten minutes later, I realized I had no idea what was playing. “Great. I’m bored.” The words slipped out of my mouth before I could stop them. Being bored in a mansion sounded stupid. People would probably laugh if they heard me complain about it. But that didn’t change the fact that the place felt too quiet again. I turned the television off and stood up.

"I f*cking made a mistake when I called it boring." Art laughed at her and she sulked. "Oh, yes. This is definitely not boring." ____

I shouldn't care though because I have always been a loner. I get up and go fix myself something to eat and head back to my room. I turn on the radio and listen to music while I am eating. When I finished eating I put a movie in and try to get into it so I can try and forget about how bored I am. 3 movies later and I am still bored and there is nothing to do. My father is on his computer chatting away with women from different states. I walk into the living room and tell him I am bored. I ask if we can go out and do something but like always I get not right now. I told him I was bored and he looks at me and says,
