Leon panted, scanning the dim corridor as his breath came in uneven bursts. Suddenly, a faint figure emerged out of the shadows—the female ghost. Her face was blurred and indistinct, her presence otherworldly. She didn’t speak but raised a hand that glowed faintly blue, pointing silently in a specific direction. Leon froze, instinctively stepping back half a pace. But time was slipping through his fingers, and hesitation was a luxury he couldn’t afford. Clenching his jaw, he forced himself to follow the ghost’s lead.

“God, you don’t deserve to be here. But I can’t help you, Mom. I can’t even help myself.” She stared at me like I had just spoken another language ... Then she stood up and began pacing, her hands flying to her head. “That’s impossible. What happened to everything you got from Echo?” “Everything is still there,” I said, voice cracking. “But I can’t access any of it. The house is haunted, Mom. There’s a ghost in that house. 43 The laughter in the hallway caused Ghost to slow down on his steps. It was coming from his apartment. Fucking strange, who would be laughing in there, and at this late hour? Scar, who was exquisitely dressed in clothing that very much belonged to Ghost, was on the couch, with Ciara. She looked different. But in a good way.

Suddenly, Adrian realized that these individuals indeed harbored ulterior motives. Adrian expanded his awareness, and the sight before him left him speechless. The entire hall was now teeming with an array of ghosts and monsters. Among them were towering old men with only one eye, lanterns swaying on a single leg, malformed boys with just one limb each, women clad in white exuding a bone-chilling aura, and skeletal figures draped in human skin...

Warmth surged throughout his body as it slowly took on a solid form and he could feel the wetness of the water on his skin. He leant forward from behind her. "Thank you..." he whispered in her ear. At the same time, a gust of cold wind brushed past and fluttered her wet hair in mid-air. She froze at the sudden abnormality and crossed her hands over her exposed chests. Her body trembled when a pair of cold arms appeared out of nowhere and wrapped her slender waist from behind. From the dimmed reflection on the glass, she could vaguely see someone with long hair and a muscular body; smiling at her. Her face turned as white as the white sheet. Is that the female ghost she saw last night?

After a moment of silence, she whispered, “They say this place is haunted.” Jackson’s jaw tightened as he struggled with a response. Should he admit to her that he agreed with the rumor? Should he tell her that, like Mike and her father, he’d seen and felt things that shouldn’t have been there? He hadn’t even admitted that to the men. He’d only admitted to the place giving him the creeps. Something inside of him kept him from voicing it. It was as if voicing it would make it real. “I saw that woman looking out of the window,” Melody confessed. “She’s not right. She looks dead.”
